This old ad dates to May of 1955. Showing the model 45 IH baler being pulled by a Farmall, not sure of the model.

Ralph, IH machines made in Australia carried an A in the model name at least into the 1970s, hence the different models in Aust and Canada.

Here is a similar ad to the balers you posted. Not able to identify the tractor in this one though. David

Interesting, and a little confusing since IH built their A series trucks in 57 and 58, then changed to the b series in 59.

Your Australian Massey combines are totally different than what Massey was selling here in 59.

I don't have an ad of them handy but rather than leave without posting, here is an ad for Case crawler tractors from the early sixties.

I posted this one in a thread a while back for those who haven't seen it.

Thats an intersting picture if you think about it. How much things have changed since that year. 7 companies in the game then and now what are there 3?

This ad might be a little off topic for IH red power but who knew Fairbanks Morse built a lawn mower in 1955? Pretty neat.

Some more ads for Australian built harvesters. These are MF 587 headers which were made in the 1970s.

These machines replaced the earlier 585 model and were available as a pull-type PTO powered or self-propelled. The SP machines were powered by a Perkins 4 cylinder diesel engine. The earlier 585 model was powered by a Dodge 4 cylinder side-valve petrol engine.

More information on the MF 587 headers. Most machines were built with comb fronts and only a few with open fronts.
