Now let’s compare obesity, prescription drug use, life expectancy etc. I would expect about 3.5 visits per year I go 3 times So why do you need to go the doctor 18 times a year as in Korea? Are more frequent visits a sign of heath problems? 1 Quote

You mentioned that people in the US would have more doctor visits than other countries, that doesn’t look to be true. Quote

I really do expect any one needs to go more than 2-3 times a year if they are healthy. I know they want you to go more because they make more money. Quote

acem Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Primary care Dr visits are not the real problem with costs for healthcare in the US. It's over priced medicine and surgical procedures. 2 Quote

marty966 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Back when i was a teenager healthcare was about the furthest thing from my mind, lots more important stuff to think about, such as, girls, cars, ,trucks, tractors, gettin` together with the gang.... not necessarily in that order, you get the picture, we were invincible back then.😷 2 Quote

America is a fantastic place to visit....and my first visit was in 1972......I was there for 12 weeks....wandering around in a 1968 3 speed Mustang.....stopping to talk to Farmers , where ever I went......and always being well recieved by the best folk in any country... I could write a real 'treatise' on this subject......!!! I must have spent way in excess of 12 months over my 22 trips thru the US Border controls......remembering that 3 yrs working in the Caribbean gave me many trips , 'work wise' flying into Charlotte NC ,, to buy specific equipment items for my job....Great fun !! The contrast from 1972 to 2024....is unbelievable...which ,I guess is to be expected.......personally.....I would take '72 over today...all day long.... Would I like to live in the US ??????? .....I live in the South Island of NZ...the same size as the State of Illinois...Population figures for Illinois 2025 is 13 plus million....Population of South Island 2025 is 1 (one ) plus million... I have clean rivers , mountains hunting and Red relics ..I am ok here !! Mike 3 Quote
