Osprey's nest moved

There was an Osprey nest on the top of a pole right under the left base leg pattern of runway 34 at PSM. It's rumored one of the birds actually was involved in a mid-air but I can't verify that. Anyway, Eversource relocated the nest on a new pole now on the edge of the bay rather than I95 and airport. Hopefully the birds appreciate it.

I love to watch ospreys catch fish.

I know there have been some nests in Maine that were moved and the Osprey's didn't like the new neighborhood and started to rebuild the nest back in the original place.

Hopefully they'll see the advantage of the new location. The platform they previously occupied was installed by the power company at the request of F&G and the birds, recognizing the advantage of the prefab, moved in. Waterfront real estate instead of highway frontage - location, location, location.😊

When I lived at Cape Hatteras NC I saw a lot of Ospreys. One was flying parallel to the bridge I was driving on,  so was about 10' outside my window. It had a large fish in it's talons head toward the front. Looked like a plane with an auxiliary tank underneath. The brown pelicans were my favorite to watch. I rarely saw one dive and come up without a fish.

Yes, but the taxes are always a killer.

There are quit a few ospreys around here. One of the fields I cut has a nest on top of the power pole for the irrigation well. The neighbor can see the pole from his front yard and they enjoy watching the chick each year. But the parents sure like to drop a lot of sticks in the field around the nest.
