Cruz Posted May 8 Posted May 8 What ever happened to these things I never saw one in a tractor or anywhere before, were they abandoned or scrapped to some degree. Is it still possible to find one? I would like to find one because it looks like my 1586 an '81 model has the holes for one. Quote
Jeff-C-IL Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I believe that was the "western interior". there has been otehr posts on here about it. 1 Quote

acem Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I'm not aware of anyone making reproductions. Please let us know if you find any. You can probably find one on a bad seat that will need reupholstered. I believe these were used on later 86 series, 88 series and the big 4x4. I don't remember seeing any in combines which is odd. I think they would be more usable in a combine that a tractor... 1 Quote
HydroTek Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Sears made those seats so there may be a source from the trucking industry 1 Quote
brahamfireman Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Our 5088 with western interior doesn't have that headrest, nor holes for it. 1 Quote
Qc.Can.IH man Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Tractorseats.com sells them complete with the suspension. The last time I bought a brown seat with the headrest was in 2020. I restored my 1486 and put the western interior in it. It wasn’t exactly the same as the original, but it’s as close as I could get. 3 Quote

We have a early 5088 that's got the western interior with the holes for it just no headrest to go with it. If I ever have to replace a entire seat I think i'd want one of those seats from tractor seats but my 15 has new cushions and a good working mechanical seat currently.
