junkandcattle Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Been cold and windy the last few days. Tonight is 5 degrees but calm finally. The sky is unusually clear. My wife grabbed a couple of pictures. The number of stars visible was amazing for this part of the world. 5 Quote

Bill in Winnipeg Posted January 20 Posted January 20 -24C here right now (-11.2F). The wind was blowing like crazy yesterday, at least that's calmed down. This is the worst stretch of the winter for the next few weeks. Quote
Jacka Posted January 20 Posted January 20 8 degrees F here in Pennsylvania with a howling wind.No snow to speak of in my part of Pennsylvania. Very, very dry.We are in a drought warning for my county I believe .Last summer was horrible dry, continued into the fall and winter. Springs dried up,no small ground water springs. Creeks are very low or dry.Even the Juniata River in my county is as low as I ever seen it in the winter, might be as low as our worst summer droughts .We get our ground water from snow pack in the winter along with normal rains.Been dry last several years. Doesn't look good to start another hot growing season Quote
Alan Dinan Posted January 20 Posted January 20 It’s 11 here right now with a little breeze. Says it feels like 9 F then warming up tomorrow and then back down to single digits again toward the weekend. Quote
from H to 80 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 We butchered last Saturday,i had to move everything from the smoke house back into the cooler. It has to get pretty cold to freeze meat, with salt in it,but with single digit temperatures,i wasn't going to take any chances. Quote
Diesel Doctor Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Suppose to be around -20 below here Friday night. Every winter usually has a total of about two weeks of miserably cold weather. Here it comes! Quote

farmallcubkid Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Southern South Dakota tonight. I couldn't really get a clear picture of the moon though. I thought it looked kind of cool so I took some pictures. It was about 20 here degrees when I took those pictures. It's supposed to be real cold in South Dakota these next few days, but we have had it pretty easy here so I guess it's about time. 1 Quote
