I have a Hydro 100 that I added a stock turbo to, off a 1466 several years ago. It has a loader so I occasionally use it to move big bales and also use it for small utility projects like running a manure spreader or similar.  But I mostly use it for running a schulte 8' snowblower for heavy snow removal. I would like to get more power out of it for running the blower. I considered replacing the stock turbo with a 3LM and/or adjusting the screw which I have never touched. Does anyone think either of these options would be unwise and be extremely harmful to the hydro transmission?

When you installed the hair dryer it should've made the horsey ponies 135ish if nothing else was changed. Going to 150-160 shouldn't hurt anything. A friend has a 3488 with 180+ that runs hay equipment and other such sundries so running a snow blower with 160 hp shouldn't be a problem with a Hundo.

You don't need the bigger turbo for a little more hp, just turn the fuel up. A good stock turbo will support all the hp you'll want to squeeze out of it.

Just so you know the oil pan is no different on a D vs DT engine. NA engines have a longer dipstick to change the advertised oil capacity. I'd pretend you have a DT where the crankcase capacity is 17 quarts since you have the hair dryer.

Was pretty sure the 1066 (DT414), 1486 (DT436), and 4386 (DTI466) were all 20 qts.   Easy to remember cause it was 5 gallon.  Am I that forgetful.... ??
