  1. Expect to pay considerably more in the coming months. The strategic petroleum reserve has been drawn down to cover the loss of heavy sour crude oil in world markets ..ie the ongoing wars and hard to see how it will be replenished.Heavy sour crude is used for making diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene which is mostly imported and refined here. The US pumps and refines light sweet crude used in making gasoline and the excess is exported. Our refineries are not configured/able to distill light sweet crude to make diesel fuel. Most of our heavy sour crude comes from Canada,Venezuela,Gulf Of Mexico and the Middle East.Middle East sour crude no longer available to the US and what does get out goes to far east markets.
  2. Also easy to misjudge size of bear if you've never seen them in woods. In other words smaller bears can look bigger than they actually are.
  3. Here in the west .270,308,30.06 or if your going to reach out a magnum of your choice either a custom rig or off the shelf.Use premium bullets and get the best optics you can afford for both scopes, bino's and spotting scopes. If using a pistol .44 magnum or something similar.Shot placement can't be emphasized too much.
  4. There's a screen type filter under the oil sending unit that can plug up from sludge buildup and cause an inaccurate reading on the gauge.Regular oil changes usually mitigate that issue tho.
  5. The later NH small square balers went to a feeder fork setup similar to the Deere baler.
  6. I pick up two string bales out of the field with a NH stackliner.Picks up bales from the inline as well as the side pull with no issues.Big thing about the bale wagons is you need to make a solid bale weighing around 60 lbs or greater depending on bale size and size of balewagon.
  7. Amost sounds superstitious
  8. As good as the Deere balers are the inlines are better...have both
  9. One way to do it is get a derelict tractor for cheap then get after it.Have less than 12k in this 1974 Deere 4230.Runs and operates like a new one except it has almost double the hp and an upgraded a/c system.
  10. Great pictures.Looks like your cutting for haylage?
  11. Looks like a European model.
  12. Don't think you can have too many tractors..just need a place to stash 'em.
  13. low on brake fluid
  14. Using the triple six to put down fertilizer.
  15. I'll bet he walked on the moon before Neil Armstrong.
  16. Back to the deere...painted front axle and rattle canned back wheels.A/C and heat working good.Extra sound and heat barrier in cab.Converted battery box on right side of tractor into a toolbox.
  17. Nice tractors. That Allis looks sharp.
  18. Friend of mine has a 7020 sitting in his yard, doesn't run but is complete. He'll give it to me but I have no use for it.Don't think it would take much to get it going.
  19. When I was a kid in the 1970's a couple hard headed dairy farmers my dad knew got into a pissing match over some heifers in a deal that went bad.One day one of the farmers showed up on the others door step. They got into another argument and the guy went out to his pickup and got a pistol and shot the guy still standing on his front porch in the leg.Good thing the guy was a poor shot as he went to prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon instead of first degree murder.Don't remember how many years he was in prison but he did do some time.
  20. Thanks for posting, lots of good looking iron. That 185 White caught my eye.
  21. I have a 1976 Farmall 666 with the D312 engine.Engine has just over 4000 original hours on it.Could someone tell me what the factory recommends for valve adjustment intervals. This is just an observation but having worked on many different diesel engines over the years seems that the valve lash can be tighter than spec just as easily as looser than spec due to the valves recessing into the head. Thanks
  22. Both rear tires and one front were junk.Worked it the other day up and down hills.Did not jump out of gear.
  23. That thing is wasted!
