Exceptionally warm today. Was up around 55°F this afternoon. Was almost to warm to be in the bush working lol.  Supposed to be one or two more warm days then start dripping off. Still no measurable snow in the forecast.  Some pretty nice sunsets the last couple nights now too.  Milwaukee bug bit again yesterday too lol. Got a decent deal on the kit. Blower puts out almost as much as our big stihl backpack blower. Should be a lot more convenient to use though. Came with a 12.0 battery.

The 12.0 battery is a good addition. I have one of those blowers, but only have 5.0 batteries. Spend almost as much time changing batteries as blowing. Can’t see that the saw would be any easier on them

That darn milwaukee bug lol. I got the saw as well. Pretty happy with it so far. I don't use it as a main saw but it's pretty handy to take fencing and just to ride around in the truck. I got it mostly for by the mill. So much nicer than having to fire up the gas saw to cut an end off or trim a little bit. The 12.0 gets quite a bit of cuts too. I've been buying the 6.0 when they come on sale for the blower, vacuum, trimmer, etc. I like them for the price. Quite a bit more run time then the 5.0

yes them cordless saws are awesome, i have the dewalt on smallest model one but holy does it it cut i cleaned up 12 end dump trailer loads out of my yard this fall, been a job that been neglected for a long time but didnt take long to clean up with this saw, battery life was awesome, by time the battery was dead it was time to add chain oil anyways 

 

 

been busy picking rocks here, broke up few acres of virgin prairie and holy is there rocks, few big big ones i had to struggle to roll into the bucket but rock picker did most of it, should be able to seed nicely next year, then start breaking up the rest of it, it quite a square guessing maybe 6-7 acres total i only broke half for far get this side farmable then start breaking and picking the other side

Have you tried one of the nee forge batteries yet? Had good luck with the one I got last fall. These tools are the first ones I’ve gotten that will actually put a load on it and truly test them though too.  They go all the way up to a 12.0 in the forge line now too I think. Crazy expensive though. The nee chainsaw they have out takes 2. Trying to take the place of a 65cc chainsaw I think. It looks the part but man it’s hard to justify it at the price they want. Can buy one heck of a nice saw for the same price or less.

Always nice to gain a few acres when you can. Guessing them stones is why it never got broke in the first place. Sure a lot easier to deal with in this day and age though. Not nearly the chore it used to be.

Was so warm out this afternoon I decided I’d take the afternoon off and go quadding. Waiting on duct work yet for the furnace so haven’t been able to do any more there yet. Managed to put on 90 kms at least so it wasn’t a bad afternoon. Explored a few areas I hadn’t been and some familiar territory too. Anyone who’s seen my pics will likely recognize the sunset pics spot. One of my favorite spots to go. Left it till last so I could watch the sun go down lol.  Northern lights were shining pretty bright on my way home too. It not for a short while though I think.

I have not got any of the forge ones yet. Haven't had the need yet for the price of them. I was asking about them in spring but they only had up to the 6.0 and the one sales lady said the 6.0 is comparable to the old 12.0 in everything except the chainsaw. She said from the reviews she heard the saw performed best with the 12.0. But if they now have that in the forge line, that would be a pretty good combo

Well it wasn’t much of a ride but it’s a start lol. Got the sleds all cleaned up again anyways. Going to have to put a charger on the nytro for a bit I think. New battery bit it seemed like it was down a bit.  Snow was coming down pretty good this morning for a bit. With what melted I’m sure we had 3-4 inches. Little bit of rain before as well. It won’t stick around though. Be gone in a few days I’m sure. Supposed to go quadding tomorrow but not sure what I’ll do yet. Calling for pretty cool temps and not a lot of sun.

Little change of pace for off-roading vehicle today lol. Brother called and wanted to go up north for a little drive today. Was supposed to go quadding with a group of guys from the city but he wanted me to bring mom and dad in and go up together. Decided with the cold wind and generally overcast weather that might be the best option.  Went up through some of the areas we normally snowmobile through. It’s the esker trail at Lower fishing lake. Always a nice scenic drive. Took his little rav4 and brought a chainsaw with just incase. It got us through ok that was the main thing. Hitch was dragging on a few dips/bumps but not other casualties I don’t think.  Was a nice little get away anyways.

Finally got a blast of winter here yesterday. Shoulda got a sled fired up but no time yet. Got caught during the snow doing some field work. Took advantage of the nice weather and no frozen ground right to the end I guess lol. Got some ground worked up and smoothed out where we cleared a few years ago. Mowed and disked first, then went in with the deep tiller.  It was working so nice when I started but by the end anywhere there was a bit of grass it was plugging up. Had to be snowing about 2 inches an hour. Was 4-5 inches when I quit. Then got a good shot of snow overnight again. I guess winter is here! Lol

Brought home another load today again.  Saying big snow storm here starting tomorrow night. Guess we’ll see. Seen reports of anywhere from 4 inches to 3 feet depending where you are lol. Sleds are somewhat ready to go just in case anyways lol.

It had been snowing at home since 10 that morning but was nothing at all to the south, so we figured go finish up what we could. Started snowing just before I pulled in to the field, so I was there anyway, might as well do what I could lol.  I was surprised I went as long as I did.

Calling for a foot of snow here overnight and tomorrow. I guess wait and see lol

Well I guess it’s time to put the snowmobile thread away till next year and bring this one back lol. Unless db1486 gets to go riding again looked like he might be in prime territory for the blizzard that went through.

Got sick of working on my hands and knees under the air drill so late this afternoon I hooked onto the cultivator and worked up about 20 acres of low land close to the house. Normally water going through there full force this time of the year yet so hard to say how this will turn out. Gona get dry quick if we don’t get some rain in June.  Picture with Winston was just over 10 days ago I believe.  Same low spot I just worked.

What tractor is that? I’m guessing a 4X60 since I don’t see a muffler in the hood. 
 

We have a good start on planting here, but until today I hadn’t been in the sprayer at all. I was more worried about getting some seed in the ground and the wind has been blowing here for weeks. The 4730 wouldn’t shift into 4th most of last year. I finally took the time to track down the broken wire to get it fixed. I had replaced a solenoid on a wheel motor last year that didn’t help it. I ran the last tank out for today at about 9:00. 
 

 

Me and my daughter also got our first mushroom yesterday. It’s still a little early for that crop here.

Yes it’s a 4560. Dad bought it new in 94. Still fairly low hours. 5700-5800 I belive if memory serves me correct.  Picture from a couple years back after I had waxed it. 
 

Sure nice to get an easy fix once in a while. Frustrating tracking down the broken wires sometimes but once you do there’s a certain sense of satisfaction especially when it doesn’t cost much to fix lol.  I’ve got our sprayer in the shop yet. Doing a Eng oil change and I have one hyd line that’s leaking at the crimp. Only problem is it’s about 20’ long. Comes from a valve bank at the back and follows the frame along with a dozen other lines then comes down to the front right axle extend.  It’s going to be a real brute to get out and even worse to get back in.

I remember dreaming of owning a 60 series when they were new. We never had one though. 
 

The local Deere dealer here has a portable hydraulic hose crimper. I have used them a bunch of times to fix hoses on my Kinze planter. They think every hose should be inside of the planter frame. I can’t understand that logic. Often we can put a new crimp on or repair a section without fighting getting the hoses in or out. The frame is always full of dirt and it can be an ordeal to get them back in. Ordeal is probably not a strong enough word.

One of my biggest pet peeves with Mfg’s is their use of single braid hose. If they’d just chip in and spend a few extra cents on a new piece of equipment it would sure solve a lot of issues. This one of mine now maybe not as I’m sure it’s the crimp that’s leaking but so many other times it’s just a cracked hose weeping.  At 250$ a Pail for the hyd oil rogator says to use I don’t want any extra dust control lol.

That looks a lot more manageable than some of the pics I’ve been seeing. Some places sure got hammered. Hope we don’t get it here again to be honest. 
 

Forecast is looking good so I hope to be harrowing tomorrow afternoon or Friday. Supposed to go to a bbq tomorrow morning at the local coop. They Invited everyone who ordered seed from them. See what happens. I need a couple parts anyways so maybe make a morning out of it. Finally got that hose out of the rogator tonight. Took a couple hours of fighting with it to finally get it out. It’s most definitely not going back the same way it came out lol. I tied a rope to the end so I could fish it back through but it’s so bloody tight in some spots I’ve got my doubts it’ll go. Must’ve cut off a dozen zip ties too. Some in spots where you were working blind and hoping you weren’t cutting a wire instead of a zip tie.  Wasn’t quite as long as I thought. Probably 16’ instead of the 20 I guessed. Probably still be nearly a 200$ hose though by the time you put the ends on.

We missed most of the rain here. It really cooled off. Temps back in the 60’s. I’m back planting today. What few crops are up really aren’t doing much. We need some sun and heat.

I had big plans of going harrowing today but that kind of changed as of midnight or so.  Woke up with an upset stomach. Didn’t sleep a lot and then around 5:00 I had to get up as I felt like I was going to throw up. Good thing I did🥲. Managed to get back to sleep around 7:00 and got up about 10:00. Went out with the cultivator again for a bit shortly after 1:00 and turned a bit of dirt again. Worked up some hail roads in the field from last fall and some sprayer ruts from last summer. Hooked onto the harrows tonight and found a bit of welding I had to do. Found another spot after I put the welder away so I may have to try and touch that up in the morning yet if I go out.  Air drill is nearly ready to go now anyways. One hyd filter to change on the tractor and a couple small things on the drill yet. Talking a chance of snow/rain on Sunday again so we might be a few days away yet. Have a new fertilizer bin coming out on the 30th so really hoping the weather cooperates for that.

We definitely had alot more then you did. Actually quite a bit more here then south of the 45. I didn't fire up the sled but could've for a bit. It was mostly gone by Wednesday evening though except for drifts. Smashed my camera lens so didn't bother taking pictures lol
