Flags to half staff until sundown Sept 1 for Dolly

I normally wouldn't be in favor for honoring a celebrities memory by such a tribute but Dolly was an exceptional woman who both entertained us and through her foundation used her money and fame for good.

She was far beyond a celebrity. She represented all the good that can be done when you put others before yourself. The epitome of success. 
What other person has given so much to others as she has? 
Without expecting anything in return.

yes...and when she visited New Zealand,  back in the 80's....one sports stadium was filled to capacity...around forty thousand folk piled in to hear her ....

...to my total disgust...the South Island on that morning provided the peasants with atrocious weather...thus no small feeder aircraft were flying....so that fleeting opportunity to see ...and listen too,  an absolute American icon ,  was lost............,

There are, however , millions of folk who will  always remember her contribution to this troubled world..

She was a good gal.

80 years old and kept her husband out of the spotlight.  I don’t remember ever hearing her name mentioned in any scandal either.
