AndyTheCornbread Posted June 19 Posted June 19 I have the 5.1L 6-cyl diesel version. I need to change the oil in this as I have no idea when it was last changed. What filter does it take? How many gallons of what type of oil does it take? Is there anything I should be aware of when changing the oil in this? Quote
Sparky Posted June 19 Posted June 19 So you have the German Diesel 310... As far as the filter, your local CaseIH parts counter can help. And I'd run 30wt, but some run 15-40. Hope this helps.... Travis 4 Quote

acem Posted June 25 Posted June 25 5.1 comes out to 311 cubic inches. It should be a 310 or 312. Sounds similar but very different engines... Quote

Right....but he says he has a 5.1....in the book that is a 312. In my book, it shows that a Hydro 86 came with a German 310. Just trying to verify. Travis 1 Quote
Eason Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Early H86s had the 312 late ones had the 310 german diesel. Mine has a 310 and I run Viscosity 30wt in mine. 2 Quote
