Are Firestone 14.9-R26 All Traction FWD tires smooth enough to mount on a McCormick W4. 

The tires are 10ply seems very stiff to me.

Firestone FWD tires were designed expressly for MFWD tractors that saw severe duty on the front axle like front loader use.  The lugs are closer together than normal and most likely the load rating is higher also.  I would think a Firestone FWD tire is way overrated for what a W4 needs; probably be a real stiff riding beast.

A lot of those old tractors tires are really hard from old age. If the price is right I would buy them
