mike newman Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Automatic Trucks eh ?? Spent not many miles but several years in our International 6x4's on Forestry roading......Cummins and Alison Auto's...all on new carriage ways and some miserable grades in the New Zealand hills where the Californian Monterey pine grows like weeds..... Nothing better for that application...end of story !!...I replaced them with Macks After several years of constant over loading , and because of the old Hendrikson back ends started to cost big dollars to maintain...and also the Mack truck, being the greatest truck ever made , did not disappoint, with its 18 speed G box...and tremendous torque for hooking up big loads of gravel ...always uphill...... I am aware this comment will disturb some of the old truckies on the site.....but that was back in the 70/early 80's, when men were men, and women ate their young.....times have changed...however.....
