I needed to use the 100C so I followed the service manual instructions for a brake adjustment so I would have brakes to load and unload from my trailer. The adjustment wasn't too difficult, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures. But the hardest part was digging the brake adjuster nuts from the old grease. After the adjustment the brakes worked great!

I also needed to reinstall the belly pans. Unfortunately a couple of the nuts were damaged in the frame so the re-installation was a huge pain! Trying to align the mounting holes and getting the bolts to start in the damaged holes was very difficult. The access cover on the belly pan was missing so I took measurements so I could make a new one at some point.

As some of you have probably already seen on the "TD-18 what to do..." thread I was able to put the 100C to the test. Although too light weight to have enough traction to push the TD-18 like I wanted, it performed very well!

Still have more grease zerks to fight with and bushings and pins to fix, but I am very happy with it so far.

A little update, now that I have ran the 100C hard a few times I have identified a few things that need attention. The radiator seems to be leaking around the top where the tank and core join. I plan to take the radiator back out and see what a radiator shop can do. Radiator shops seem to be a dying thing so I'm not optimistic even though the leak looks fixable. I follow C&C equipment on YouTube and he follows me as well. He has been using IceBox radiators in some larger (TD-20E) machines. They make new aluminum replacement radiators. They do have one listed for a TD-7 for around $1,200 which seems like a lot but re-coring my original will probably be twice that. Hopefully it just needs re-soldered at the joint. At least I have options. 

I am pretty certain the TD-7, 100, TD-8 and 125 radiators are interchangeable. My parts books show slightly different part numbers but also lists a "heavy duty radiator" that's part number seems to interchange between models, even C to E series. If anyone can confirm this I'd like to know. 

Another issue I have noticed is the temp gauge will run just into the hot side then at some point will suddenly drop. So I suspect an issue with the gauge or a sticky thermostat. When it changed it is very quick, almost too quick to be realistic. I'll send off the temp gauge to have a new tube and bulb put on, along with the old trans temp gauge, and another for my Farmall 856 while I'm at it.

The engine mounts I made seem to be holding up well and dampen vibration nicely.  The other three sets of mounts I built sold and I have not yet heard any issues. Bored in a hotel room again I decided to make some more. I made three more sets. This time I made a couple slight changes, one adding a slight chamfer to the outer ring to assist with alignment when driving it into the bell housing. The other change was I went with the next step firmer polyurethane. I went with 94A on the durometer scale, the last set used 80A. There was no issue with the 80A but it did such a good job dampening vibration I now know I can increase the firmness to add durability without concern of rattling the operator's teeth out.

Here we are over a year later and I haven't used the ol 100C much, in fact I haven't even started it in a while. Got a call from a neighbor asking me to clear some overgrown weeds and brush from part of his property. I had used the IH 270A backhoe lat time but with the new tires there was too risky for a tired machine. So I decided to unleash the 100C! 

After swapping a battery in the 100C fired up immediately! Kinda surprising after a long sit. However I noticed a pretty bad fuel leak coming from the leak line off the injectors. I have had problems with these lines before on my Farmalls where the hose becomes porous with age and begins to leak. Since its all crimped fittings on these unlike the later ones with hoses and clamps I have to replace the whole leak line assembly.

I looked in my parts book and it showed IH part number 3055606R91. A quick internet search showed that was superseded to a CNH 91743256 which Messick's stocked for $186. I ordered one as well as the compression ferrule and nut as from experience the old ones don't come apart well. A few days later my Messick's order showed up and I opened it to find a nice leak line and compression nut, but instead of the ferrule they had sent a 1/2" bolt of some sort. Definitely not what I ordered. Disappointed and wanting to get it fixed I went to the local hardware store and bought some 5/16" compression ferrules. Thankfully the hardware store ferrule did the trick, I don't always get so lucky as the original is shaped a bit different.

I took the 100C over to clear the property. It performed quite well, especially for my novice operator skills. I did notice the one track with more worn shoes slipped more in the dirt during hard pushes. But about half way through the job the 100C stopped moving. I tried shifting but nothing. I looked at the torque converter pressure gauge and it had no pressure showing in the "warning" zone. I looked behind me to see a trail of my expensive Viscosity Ultraction in the dirt. 

I went home and got the 510 Payloader and drug the 100C home (not very far). It followed along nicely behind the 510. I went back with the 510 to finish the job which was a mistake as I hit a hidden rotary hoe under the weeds and put three large holes in my new Firestone tires. 🤬 Thankfully I was able to get the holes patched but its the first damage to a new set of matching expensive Firestones.

I tipped off the transmission fluid in the 100C and started it. The leak immediately started gushing under the floor along the right frame rail. After searching for the specific damaged spot I located the hose from the charge pump to the pressure filter had chaffed through on the frame. Could be worse but not an easy one to get to and a very long hose.

The hose itself had a common #16 JIC female connector on the filter end, but a special long #16 JIC 90 degree fitting on the pump end. I searched the hose part number 656558C2 just for kicks but found nothing available. So I got out my Gates book and looked up the fittings. The filter end was a Gates 16G-16FJX and seemed to be readily available locally, but the pump side with the long 90 was a Gates 16G-16FJX90L. That needed to be ordered and wasn't cheap at $150-$170, plus the 6' of 1" hose it was going to take to make the hose!

But the end is on order so hopefully it'll be back together soon, and I'll have an update. One thing is for sure I'm not going to finish that job with a machine with tires!

Dan, next time try Discount Hydraulic Hose.  They have most fittings and will assemble and clock it any way you want.  I got me large dozer lift hoses for my AC HD 9 from them very reasonably and fast.

Hows the quality? Prices look pretty good. I'm going to need soooo many custom hoses for the IH 4140 skid loader project.

I agree with Rawleigh99, I too have been using Discount Hydraulic hose for over 10 years. Great price and selection, but I buy mostly bulk hose and reusable fittings. I was having trouble with quick disconnects that I was buying from Tractor Supply and local automotive places, but the ones from Discount Hydraulic have given me no trouble at all.

Quality fair ++ Remember 99.75% out there is china s%^&(&* just paying for the box and +- QC

needing assistance/ clocking clarification length/angle or "rare" not so much

I've had no issue with them so far.  The guy I got the dozer from was a manager at Linkbelt and said it I got the hoses cheaper than he could get them at his employee discount.
