65806 Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 I would guess that all 706’s would have drilled and threaded holes in rear and bottom of housing to mount any of the drawbars from any year 706/806. But agree that pictures would be good. Quote
VacDaddyt Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 The rockshaft assembly would have to be put on, maybe the whole top cover from a donor. The standard hitch if like mine was attached to the rear axles and was set up like a M. Might be easier to get a whole rear end. Quote

I believe he is saying he has just a fasthitch and no drawbar but the slip in one for the fasthitch. My brother has a 282-706 set up without a drawbar but has a fasthitch. I am interested in the answer if I am understanding his question Quote
VacDaddyt Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 You are probably right, not enough information. Quote
cedar farm Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I have an early 706D. The rear casting support on the early ones are a two piece with no holes for a drawbar support plate. I drilled and tapped my own holes. Probably would have been just as easy to get a one piece from a salvage yard off a later 06 or a 56 series. I believe A & I also sells them as well. Quote
only red Posted May 14, 2019 Author Posted May 14, 2019 That is correct. This 706 just has 2 point arms which is the fast hitch, but it has no straight drawbar, and it has no drawbar support plate. It does not have the holes tapped in the rearend for a drawbar casting IH # 389064R1 Quote
hemlockfarms5288 Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Hopefully I can help, I added the brackets for a draw bar and the bottom support plate and added a used draw bar. I also have a fast hitch. I can get you part numbers. Hopefully my pics help. Quote
hemlockfarms5288 Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Also everything bolted right up, I did not have to drill and tap anything, but my 706 had the support already for the draw bar pin to side up in under the belly of the rear end. It is a 1964, but never had a straight draw bar from factory. We bought new in '64 Quote
