Big Roy Posted May 8 Posted May 8 A couple of weeks ago I went to an antique tractor show and tractor pull put on by low country antique tractors and engines. My purpose for going was to meet Big Roy. Big Roy is a 1972 Allis Chalmers HD 41 bulldozer. Just for reference I’m 5 foot 11in so you can see this dozer is a beast! 7 Quote

Just idling along you could feel the ground moving beside it. Between the two, I could empty the first compartment of my delivery truck. The compartment had 500 gallons. This was every other day; the tanks were huge. This was a good contract; I was selling about 7000 gallons a week in one spot. 2 Quote
Alan Dinan Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Dad told about going to a construction equipment auction in Louisville Kentucky and there was a 41 , no cab there. He climbed up on it and grabbed the truss of the building. That was back in the ‘70’s, so not sure which building that would have been at the fairgrounds. 2 Quote

MeanGene1 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 The owner of the local quarry always liked to have the biggest dozer around for bragging rights- for a while it was one of those, and it was pretty stout. Then he got a D10. Later in the late 80's someone else got a D11, so he had to have one. Thought he got a good deal on it- even though it was used out of a strip mine. Just needed tracks n undercarriage... Got severe sticker shock when he got the prices (late 80's), $22000 each for the tracks, plus all the rest, and the engine wasn't exactly cherry either. He was in somewhat of a bad mood for a while😡 Quote
