I've been around some the pilots of those air tankers and helicopters. Amazing people. When we need them, I am awful glad to see them show up.

There is a martin mars stationed on the island I don't think it's used anymore but talk about impressive. Burnaby has lots of grassland and every year we had at one or two massive brush fires, calling in the choppers to dump on them to help the guys who slogged in and fight with portapumps, my hat was always off to the forest guys, building fires we went in took care of business even if 8 to 10 hours, but there was an end, the forest guys go in stay in til the deed is done.

Lorenzo's thread about the nice old Diamond T reminded me of this pic.

It draws me in, harder times with tougher men and machines

...from the news  media (TV)…..she looked very spritely   for such an old lady...…(."Dame"  Vera Lynn )...there was also footage from a Kiwi  musician  talking to her last year.....very clear and sharp  with her abundant memories......

..lot of old Black and white    footage of her back in the WW2  and post war era …...good stuff   !!….an English icon

Hiller, you ornery person!  The next thing you know I will be commenting on the high heels and get this post, or me, banished!

Now, now, let's not let the young lady distract you from the beautifully creative photo of the sun peeking through the clouds

You ornery rascals.  I can provide extra denim to prevent sunburn!  Cheeks are a terrible thing to waste. Oh, is there corn or some form of sorghum in the background?
