Well....I don't know what I got myself into... we got the chiweenie for our son, then decided we needed her brother! We already have a Chiweenie in the house but for some reason we have another! Pics still aren't working. I was going g to post a pic of the pup but no dice!

Speaking of wheatland tractors, there's a 1256 Wheatland for sale on Bismanonline. I have no connection to the tractor, just saw the ad today.

Yeah, I can see the older pics but ones from today and maybe yesterday say they aren't available.

I read this story somewhere before. Either that or I'm having a severe case of deja vu. I'm guessing they thought having a gas line pass through a welding shop was a hazard?

That transmission and differential is a direct descendant of the Farmall M, a 38 HP tractor originally. It was beefed up to handle the ~60hp 6 cylinder that it received. The assembly was pushed about to its limits with the stock D282 or C263 engines.

A 160+ horsepower engine in a 50-60 horsepower tractor. Can't see anything going bad with that one!(sarcasm)

Good info. My 52 M with OE disc brakes is #296607.

That's going back a few years. I was in 4th or 5th grade! Maybe someone closer to that area might have an idea of some 350s around there. I'm in central ND so unlikely it would have made it's way here. By that time most farmers were using bigger tractors so I would think a 350 probably would have stayed closer to home.

A little info might help. Was it traded months, years, decades ago? 50 years ago? Any chance you might have a serial number? I can't think of anyone who has a 350 in my area.

My M with the Lamberts is a parts tractor with a stuck engine so I've never really used the brakes. I had my dad pull the tractor with me on it from where I bought it to my place about 8 miles away. I never got the brakes to work. Had to leave the tractor in 5th gear, hold the clutch down and when I needed to slow down I let up on the clutch pedal a little. It wasn't a fun ride home!

The 40/60 series Farmalls and Internationals are growing on me more and more all the time. They’re just good looking tractors in my opinion. Was there a color change at some point in their production? Like the two in the picture, I see some where the white parts are painted white while others are more of a light tan or cream color.

Yep...that's the same setup I have on one of my Ms and I was told they are Lambert. I think mine is a 44 if I remember right.

Aftermarket Lambert brakes will have 3 bolts through the housings and OE IH disc brakes have 5. As far as I know the OE were only on straight Ms starting in later 1952. They won't bolt onto the earlier castings.

You must have an early 52 then. My 52 M is somewhere around 1500 units from the end of production and has factory disc brakes. Tractor was bought new by my grandpa. I also have an older one (~44-45~) with aftermarket Lambert disc brakes.

Has anyone tried Crop Max tires? I have a bad 10.00-16 3 rib on the front of my 1066. I decided to buy 2 new 4 ribs and keep the one good 3 rib for a spare just in case. The tractor might get 50 or a hundred hours a year on it. Mostly just light loader work and pulling things around in the summer and pushing/blowing snow in the winter. I ordered a pair of 10.00-16 10 ply 4 ribs. Price is very reasonable in my opinion. But not so reasonable if they turn out to be junk!

My wife and I picked up this little almost 3 month old Chiweenie on Wednesday. She is going to one of our sons who has been missing and wanting a Chiweenie since he left home and our Chiweenie behind. It's going to be a surprise for him Friday. His girlfriend is in on it but he has no idea. He only knows we are driving to her ranch about a hundred miles away (where he also works) to give him something from home.

Sounds like a good deal to me. They usually run from $800 to $1500 around ND depending on condition, tires, equipment etc. Although the last one I bought was $200 with live hydraulics but it needed some other work. Runs nice. It had an SMTA grill on it that I sold for more than I paid for the tractor. The M&W parts are a real nice bonus. I'd be interested in the 52 serial number. I always wonder how close to the end of straight M production a 52 is. Does it have disc brakes?

Lots of Minnie Mo LP tractors in ND from the 50s through the 70s.

We went to their ranch for a cookout at the owners' house a while ago. The porter houses and T-bones were probably the best I've ever had.

Been close to 100° for a few days,, have a few days to go. Not really unusual for us but we northerners handle from 30 below to over 100 above.

The thread where we were talking about power glides got me thinking...it looks like I have a 62 cast iron Powerglide. The others, I can't rember anymore. There's probably a TH 350 and a TH 200 or something like that in the mix. They've been in the loft for at least 30 years. I had a 52 PowerGlide but don't member what happened to that one.

We always called them monkey wrenches. The 55-66 Chevy/GMC shortbox pickup box trailer is what caught my eye!
