How to Remove Clutch Pedal Pivot Pin 826

What's the trick for removing the clutch pedal pivot pin? Mine is super tight but before I reach for the shaped charge is there a trick? 

Had a fair bit of pedal wobble but it looks like most of the wear is on the shaft and not the pedal.

Nut on that shaft on the inside. Not very fun, have to remove hitch cover. I have wrapped shim stock around that shaft and used extra washer behind the pedal to make it fit tight with cotter pin

Piece of cold roll or 4140 would make a good shaft
need to machine the step and threads on the new shaft

What is the hitch cover? I don't see anything listed by that name? If it's really involved, I won't be replacing it then.... but I do have some shim stock. Thanks!

After reading that, I think I can live with a little pedal wobble... assuming I can't corncob it in some reasonably acceptable way. I was just fixing a bigger problem with the trans brake and thought I'd overhaul the linkage in the process. Thanks!

That is another name for the rear frame top cover
-- where the 3pt hitch cylinder lives 

That nut can be reached thru the rear pump hole -- but only if you are young and flexible
-- also thru the top link cover if you have really long arms 

Easiest is to remove the hitch cover

I've done a bunch by removing the main pump,  growing a 2nd elbow and fishing my arm and a 7/8th wrench up there. Then get a pipe wrench on the pin and spin the nut and spacer off. The 826 should have a self locking nut so not too hard to get nut off. The 06's are a castle nut and cotter pin, THOSE SUCK!!!

There's an oring on the pin that makes them a bit hard to pull out. I use a long thick screw driver through the cotter pin hole to tighten then back up

I bring pedal and pin to machinist to get them turned and bushed. It's a job but well worth it to have a tight pedal.
