Heathouser on farmall h

I have a heathouser for my grandpas 4020 does anyone think it would be possible for it to go on my farmall h?

anything is possible but its wider at the windshield ,side entry and overall larger than an H heat houser. some modifications will be necessary

No, because it's not something that's commonly done. You will have to lay the heat houser on the tractor where you think it's supposed to go, and then figure out how to make the brackets attach to the tractor. Maybe you can simply bend them. Maybe you will have to construct new brackets.

Was the 4020 a Wheatland? Those could be side or rear entry.

Doesn't really matter if it is a side entry. All that really means is the left side of the cab portion of the heat houser is on a hinge. You can fix it in place.

Dad put one on his H from a 4020.  (Only pic I have of it below).  He had to use the rear bracket off of an IH windbreaker (that mounts to the fender extensions and top of engine speed lever plate) modified for the JD canvas to be comparable.  Also because it was side entry there was a flat steel bracket that he zip tied shut and was conveniently located right where the clutch pedal was so it got kicked every time the clutch was depressed.  The H is shorter in the mid section so it just funneled air through on top of the fuel tank. (He had to cut slots for the lights as well). It also wasnt long enough in the front to get the full effect from the fan so supplemental canvas was attached to close in the gap.  Hard to see around.  

 

It was better than freezing in the open moving snow years ago, but only marginally so.  I don't miss it.   Best thing he did was mothball it for an IH one that was made for it.

Another question I have windows from an old heat houser would it be easier to take the windows and use like a tarp and cut it to make my own?

do you have an industrial sewing machine? if not the answer is no

does your Farmall have fenders?

Found a rear of a heathouser and window for it. Would it be possible to put a tarp on that part to trap motor heat?

Here it is got it hung up couldn’t find the sides for the motor. I think it goes on a farmall because of the mounts and it has a door.

Once I looked at it I think the brackets bolt onto the throttle and the tops of the drawbar.

From what I can see it looks like there is enough there you could probably make the one that's hanging in your barn work with minimal modifications.

Put it on and see what happens... I've got a heat houser that I put on my H and 300 that was made for something else. A bit of judicious cutting and some hand sewing and I was in business. But if yours has a door on it I doubt you can make it fit. It ought to look like this:

I had the windshield off here, but you get the idea. Thought I had one of it on the H but can't find it.

The one on my M is for a 560 so I had to modify it some as well.

The one on your m looks like the one I found. I think I’ll buy some canvas and sew it on to make sides. Thanks for all the pictures and I’ll get you guys an update when I get it on.

Gee all this talk about heat houser, is it going to get cold out this year, ? stupi question as we are in the 40,s in central wis, while my neighbor who just went back to his Weatherford Texas place said they were going to be close to a 100 on friday,

In South Central MI it's been lows in the 40s- a bit brisk- as of late.  Im ok if it never snows but it doesn't need to be below 30.
