Kieth and others I appreciate the reply. I work for a farm equipment dealership and we went threw a pretty rough time our boss got us buckled down and looks like we might be threw it for a little while, only time will tell. What I've learned is the big guys don't seem to suffer on the outside, still buying new iron and trading on some used. I assume this is just the price of doing business on such a large acreage. Some of the smaller farmers I know I've seen some extra gray hairs come up but not a lot of talk. I see the dairies up in my FIL Minnesota neighborhood closing up and calling milking cows a done deal, will be interesting to see if they keep farming. I don't know the cow to acreage ratio it would take to make a living, IE "I need 100 cows and 320 acres to make my living" (I'm sure those numbers aren't right I honestly don't know how many acres it would take to feed cows and how many cows it'd take to make a living in normal years) but I'm sure the acreage converted to all row crop grain production acres will flood the market and make it worse on the crop farmers in the area...

I'll be honest the most I've ever been around a dairy is my FIL milked his own cows for 30+ years and I've been over to his neighbors who milk a good amount of cows and all I can say is my hats off to you guys!! I don't mind waking up early and grinding a good load of feed and feeding hogs and then being able to go about my day. I couldn't handle being married 7 days a week to a herd of dairy cows for so little reward. You guys work from before day light till after dark. Never met a family dairy farmer who didn't deserve more then their paid. I honestly don't know what I could do to help you guys. I currently look for plant # 18-55 on my milk jugs because it comes from our local area (as told by the very few dairymen left in this area). Kieth Fink, Troy Dairy, and other dairy farmers, is there any future for family farmers to keep milking cows or is it beginning to look like the hog industry where the bigger the better and if your not bigger get out?

I have a request for you guys who never seize to amaze me in the pictures you have. I am pretty interested in 3 different IH tractors because their the 3 my grandpa marveled over when we were farming with a A and a 4020. He said that a neighbor had a 4366 IH that would "walk the dog all day" with 8 bottoms behind it. I've always wanted to see good pictures especially the cab of them and can't really find a good one. He said it had a 10 speed road ranger In it which seems to be true but kinda weird. He said there was also a 1468 in the neighborhood that was his favorite watching the big twin stacks March he said he spent several hours of seat time on one but can't seem to find pictures of it it had a cab and dualls and the last a 1066 Hydro with a narrow front end and a cab he said it looked stupid but I'd think that this tractor would look cool just seeing if you guys may have a picture of any of these 3 tractors.
