Looking at pictures and info on the BTD20, it has appearance of TD20 (201 series), gear drive too. Different engine though. Maybe @Binderdan has parts coverage for TD20, 201. Could it be the same? I don't have info for either one. Pictures may help but they are not working right now. Dennis

Double check the part number. Looks like too many numbers to me. Most #s that start with a 3 are 6 digits plus the R #. Not familiar with BTD machines however. Good luck. Dennis

What you have going on may be completely normal but checking it out may be justified. The drain back hose is on the lower right side of the bell housing and returns to the front of the transmission or the main case. The fitting in the bell housing has the trough built onto it. You'll have to remove the fitting to see the trough. If the machine ever had a starter bendix failure the trash from that can collect in that fitting and restrict the flow. Also, on top of the converter is a vent, early models, or it may be piped back to the rear case, later models. Make sure it is venting. Early 175's, which yours might be if it has the Drott loader frame, had a washable safety filter in the converter out circuit. This is mounted inside the frame next to the engine on the left side. This is where you would find aluminum trash if a converter failure occurs. If your machine is running normal and converter temps are staying normal, I don't think any of this is pertinent. Make sure the starter is sealed. Dennis

The Bell housing on a 175 and others is wet do to normal leakage. The flywheel when running picks up the oil, throws it into a small trough at a return hose which takes it back to the rear case. It is possible it is over filling because of a converter problem but you generally will have trans/converter heating problems. The starter needs to be a sealed starter. S/n on a 175 should be on the left side of the seat.

@farmallcubkid, Yes you will have to remove the pan. The pan bolts to the flat plate that is under the lower seal retainer. Be sure to check your pot metal seal retainers for flatness where they bolt up to the block. They are known to warp. They can be sanded flat on a piece of glass or something you know is flat. The model and serial number is stamped on a flat machined surface on the side of the block. Can't remember which side for sure. Try the right side first. Dennis

To add to the other comments the 239 engine has a balancer mounted below the crankshaft and is gear driven off the crank. The balancer has to be timer to the crank. Check the balancer closely. Dennis

Sleeve o rings would dump coolant to the oil but not oil to coolant.

I believe the DT239 had an engine oil cooler, not sure if the D239 did. If yours has the cooler, have it checked. The cooler could cause oil to get to the cooling system. Dennis

@JonCraigHere is some info on your #s. They are the left and right link of the chain. Left and right side of the machine are the same. Your assys are for TD7C and E should fit TD6. Drop the V in part numbers for berco #. This is some fairly old info. Good chance none is available new anymore. If they are new or good, someone needs them. Number of links is important also. Are you sure you have a 1975 model? What is your s/n? Machines after s/n 9500 had what is considered the small transmission and a common oil supply for the rear case, transmission and converter with one dipstick. Machines before 9500 had a rear sump separate from the transmission as Binderdan discribed. Dennis

I don't think the TD18's had hydraulic assist like the later machines such as TD20 or later. The assist was a spring for each lever. You'll have to take a look to be sure. It's been a long time. Sure would be nice if the clutches and brakes are free. I think you have a chance if it has been undercover. Good luck. Dennis
