acem Posted July 26 Posted July 26 What adhesive works good on the door gasket on 86 series tractors? The door gasket started falling off recently. I need to clean off the several layers of old adhesive and apply new. I can't remember for sure what I used before on other 86 series tractors. Seems like I used vinyl trim adhesive??? Quote
HydroTek Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I use 3M 847 -- best stuff you gonna find can be used as a contact adhesive so clean both surfaces well of any oils or dirt then smear a coat on each side -- your gloved finger works best -- or wear the brown finger of success let dry until tacky to your finger -- only takes a few minutes then press the parts together -- correct the first time -- this 847 has a really tight grip 3 Quote

acem Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 I'll check on the 3M 847 tomorrow when I go to town. If NAPA don't have it I bet they can get it the next day. Thx-Ace 1 Quote
Dirt_Floor_Poor Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Loctite has weather strip adhesive. I’ve used it some. It worked good in my opinion. I don’t have a number though. Quote
acem Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 I stopped by the local NAPA today. He knew what I needed. Said it would be here tomorrow, if I go to town tomorrow... 1 Quote
