806 3-point won't lower. Not as simple as I expected.

I removed the 3rd link cover and verified that the sensing arm is in the correct position.  All of the linkages that I can see, appear to be connected.

No matter where I have the position control lever or the load control lever, the hitch will not go down.

The owner recently purchased this tractor, so he has no history on it.

It will settle a little overnight but immediately goes up when I start the tractor.

Naturally the tractor has a cab on it -- UGH!  Does anyone have an idea as to where the problem is?

Make a hook and pull back on the upper part of the linkage you see thru the top link hole
-- have someone stand on the arms to make them lower 
-- and also check by lifting the arms that they are not bound up 

may be something in the torsion system that is not holding the lower part correctly

if so, the arms will lower

-- if no resolve in this
then the drop control may have backed off
seen the lock nut come loose a fer times

That is behind the small cover near your right foot when sitting in the seat -- 6 bolts

Did you happen to notice if the nose of the adjusting screw on that draft linkage had broken off or backed out?

Try reaching through the three point hole and pulling on the arm coming down from the top and see if the three point drops.

Sometimes the bottom arm and stuff gets out of adjustment, loose or something.

Problems solved!

I finally got back to this tractor.  Thank you to Hydro-Tek and Snoshoe; both of your answers were correct.  

The problem was hard to spot because the adjusting screw at the top of the sensing arm appeared to be fine, but it was partially bent in the top of the crooked part of the sensing arm, so it was flexing to the side and not pushing the upper arm correctly.  I replaced the adjusting screw and the problem is solved.

This really had my scratching my head; I appreciate the wealth of knowledge that is in this forum!
