wmoore77 Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Last spring my shuttle shift and pto went out in my 485. We rebuilt it this winter finding a broken bolt in the shuttle clutch pack we put everything back together and it worked fine. We started mowing hay with it this past week. It does great for a few hours then the pto stops everything else works fine just the pto you can jerk the pto handle back and forth and it will start back and then stop again sometimes once it cools down a few hours it will work just fine again till it gets hot Any thoughts would be appreciated Quote
HydroTek Posted June 6, 2025 Posted June 6, 2025 Check at the MCV the pto control spool junk likes to wedge in the linkage I have see all kinds -- gloves, hitch pins, beer cans stuff from behind the seat falls in there The spool pushes pretty much all the way down and all the way up other option is that the seal rings in the pto shaft were damaged on install or there is a problem in the pto clutch Quote
