This probably goes without saying but to be safe I am going to say it anyway. With all the rodents calling it home, there probably isn't a good wire on it. Check everything before putting power to it. And keep a fire extinguisher handy. I would hate to see it burn up. I've seen it happen.

Wow... I know you probably look back on that with fond memories but no wonder kids migrated to the city. I have pitched untold thousands of square bales and ate enough hay dust to winter a small horse but I don't think I have it in me to pitch hay like that. I would sell the cows first. But then, I do have a lazy streak...

A/C? What would you set it on? You guys would fry at my house. We keep our A/C set on 78. Basically taking the humidity out of the air. We are never home or inside during the day anyway. There must be something magical about Alaska though. I know several people who went there to work and just never left. A few in the Air Force and a few in the oil fields.

I can't imagine 46 below zero. The coldest I ever remember here was about -10. That was enough. When it's that cold everything you do takes 3 times as long as it should.

Wouldn't dream of calling you all ninnies. It's all relative to what you are used to. In the winter I consider 30 degrees cold. A big snow storm is 4-6". But, just for reference, it was 98 yesterday with high humidity. Cooled off to about 94 today but the humidity dropped.

I really do believe that you get what you pay for. Doesn't mean you automatically have to buy the highest priced parts but do your research. And I would ask this question in the General IH section of this forum. It will get more views and responses I think.

I'm curious what you consider "really hot"....
