AmericanClassic Posted September 8 Posted September 8 So i had my 650 diesel up at Rollag over the weekend and we put it on the prony brake to see what kinda snort it had. The first day (friday) we set up to try it and it made 68 horse... (5 more then what Nebraska tested it at). Which I thought was pretty damn healthy. But there is lots of lost motion in the throttle linkage so it never did quite attain rated rpm at 540. So, we tried again on Sunday and with a little help from a friend who gave the throttle a nudge... (not much, just to get it to 540 really) is put out 78.8 horse at the pto which blew me away. I wish I'd gotten video of it but it wasn't really clouding out the sky either. I dont know any history on the machine, but im starting to wonder if someone may have gave the timing a nudge or maybe upped the fuel some... but its a damn stout 650! (Also, hope someone fixes the picture issue some time...) 2 Quote

Negative, though I did have to look at the one as id not seen one with stamped steel rims and 9 bolt hubs before. That was pretty interesting Quote
forwhldrv Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Had the 650 out this weekend it made about 63-64 hp on the dyno this tractor runs good but falls on its face when lugged down I’m tempted to look at the timing at some point. I thought 63 was ok for it. I had a kid pull it Sunday at a pull we did at the farm 1 Quote
Diesel Doctor Posted September 9 Posted September 9 The way that Dyno was shaking, it must have a U Joint out of a bent shaft. Those should run butter smooth. Quote

Someone might have just put the pointer at 0, or it might take just a nudge either way, or it might be fine. Hard to say without checking it out. Quote

Had to much angle on the pto shaft going into the dyno I should have raised the front up some to straighten the shaft out some to reduce the angle this video is from right before when I had the 730 on the dyno checking the ho before we checked the injection timing. We tightened it up a bit and got about 4-5 hp more 1 Quote
