1206 injection pump timing off, can I jump the pump drive gear. Update added

And to answer your other question, one of the very first things we did was confirm valve timing along with setting the valve lash. And when we had the timing cover off, we checked the crank and cam gear marks for alignment.

So what did you end up doing . Leaving timing marks lined up and just jumping injector pump drive? As unconventional as it sounds I have had to jump gear on two 4240 jds with roosa master pump. One was 20 years ago and guys brother worked in parts for jd dealer was able to get a new pump I thought could have been rebuilt through brother for cheaper than pump shop rebuild. That one wouldn’t run unless you moved pump gear. The other one was a friend of dad’s and just no slot left to move pump on gear so you can jump gear and adjust more. They are easy with gear cover on front side removable
