Having some trouble with posting photos ..

Do think I'm getting the hang of it now ..

What your eyeballing is a emblem made back in the 50's for a Dodge Hemi powered station wagon, I was wanting a badge to go on the tailgate ..

Old Binder now has a V-8 and overdrive trans, the badge fits ..

REDNECK EDITION car truck old HIGH QUALITY EMBLEM logo REAR BLACK RED SIGN badge - Picture 1 of 8

Beats this one ..

Here's a photo of Jay Leno's car that has this way cool emblem ...

Finally got the motor block close to final assembly .. Hope the weather warms up soon so work can get done ..

Took months to acquire all the motor parts for this build ..

H-Beam 4043 rods, forged pistons and a forged steel crankshaft most likely was overkill for no more ponies I'll be seeing from this motor ..

More to come ..

Running down a few checks for peace of mind .. These parts are new hi-performance and should fall right on the money, checking them out won't hurt a thing during assembly ..

Bought a double roller timing gear set .. Shop next door is also building a bbc motor and wanted me to degree the cam .. His chain didn't have the capability of dialing the cam, mine did sold it to him ..

Now I'm needing another .. Thought to up the game a little with purchasing a gear drive .. Got a quiet unit on the way ..

Moroso crank oil scraper came in today ..

Requires hand fitting, this will take a bit of time ..

Well, took in another 454 BBC motor that I don't have any need for ..

658149776_10238429700139911_1213164303622192368_n.jpg.a4db48c58f93aca84d08f7e126e7aee7.jpg

Needed it like I needed another hole in me head !!

Kind of wanted to see if it was a buildable core, so I tore it down to skin & bone ..

659798806_10238442997152328_1845363997052332217_n.thumb.jpg.7d3a1498ea46186ca1e4cdee73379259.jpg

Not all that bad of shape, been bored .060" over .. Bores got a bit of rust at the tops, I'll clean up the block and hit them with a hone .. Hopefully they're still able to reuse the pistons that came out of the critter .. If not I could punch it .010" more ... But I'm not going to buy new pistons for a motor that I don't need ... Need to spend money on parts for the stroker motor going in the R-100 ..

May just part it out ??

660292936_10238453893744736_6626969792785546630_n.thumb.jpg.d91b1135637f5cd5094e69c5eb89bd9c.jpg

Shoot, the crank mic-ed out on the high side, only needs to be polished .. Rods are .010" under, mains are still at STD .. Heads are even buildable they are the 113 cc chamber Peanut Ports ..

I already have a 2-bolt main BBC motor that has a set of Vortex heads sitting in a corner of the shop, looks like it's soon to have company ..

Now that a bbc motor is on the way into the binder, wanted to put them to use on it ..

Had some fitment problems cause of the Mercruiser boat motor oil pan ..

Was thinking back when I was building the Caddy column this time around .. Wanted to slick it up a bit more with using a steering wheel from a Eldorado cause it had a bead of woodgrain in it .. Finding good one was like hunting down a aux. gas tank .. After a few moons, I gave up .

464442983_10230965189251804_5996214435890093235_n(1).thumb.jpg.417e86fcf5d83feb41b4dbcde8892ed2.jpg

Decided to use a aftermarket wheel .. That turned into a huge chore due to the Caddy's column being tilt & telescopic ..

Needed a custom made adapter .. Seem the one I like was made for 77-up Caddy's, they only had 2" extension mine had 3" travel  ..

456904151_10230276154506366_817431036493998951_n.thumb.jpg.b56d6002f5589ad0183f35792b4160a7.jpg

Well poo  .... What to do now ?

Had to get 2 and make a extension ..

After it was said and done, turn out super nice .

Since the column had a key buzzer I put it to use .. Install a module that can be programed with any chime I choose, Have 'Tubular Bells' in it ..

Plays for 30 seconds then loops ..

Did a little engine work ..

Wanted to freshen up the starter since it's off the 400 ci motor that's been in my truck for over 30+ years ..

1777580681182-png.432181

Installed brushes, bushings and a new solenoid .. Recondition the armature, normal rebuild you might say .. Until the cast iron housing was found ..

1777579280996-png.432177

Direct replacement for the aluminum housing ... Was made by GM back in the late 60's early 70's for their Hi-Performance motors ..

A full rebuild went down .. Even replaced the case rubber ..

Wanted to upgrade the brakes, got the factory vacuum booster that GM used on the 75 K15 in play .. Been on it every since the body swap was done many years ago works pretty good ..

In my junkyard adventures, ran up on a 1999 1 ton C30 that had Hydroboost brakes .. The gears in my head stated spinning ...

Hydroboost Brake System Conversion on a Street Rod

Made a deal, now for a bit of work installing ...

Been doing a bit of research on this ... The C30 M/C not going to work very well on my truck cause it has a bore size of 1.250", I needed 1.125" which was used on 79 K20 3/4 ton 4X4's with Kydroboost... It would be better suited for the K15 brakes ..

Also wanted to be able to dial in the rear brake line pressure ... Got a Wilwood valve coming for doing that job ,,

Custom made mount puts it in easy reach ...

Getting some parts together  ..

Ordered a mounting plate for the hydroboost to bolt onto the firewall ..

Since I used the K15 swing pedal, it was ordered to fit that model truck ...

The plate must sit flush on the wall .. Little work is needed and welding up 2 holes .. Those was used for the vacuum booster bracelet which is not needed ..

Man, this turned into a job ..

After a few trips to Ace Hardware I found most parts that was needed ... Had to move the pedal pin ( Drilled a new hole, pressed out the oem pin than press it in the new hole and welded the backside ) up on the arm 3/4" to get a better angle for the pushrod to work .. Made the rod adjustable so I could dial-in the pedal height .. Had to make a union from a glade 8 bolt to go from 1/2" to 3/8" and thread it to 24T ....All seems to be working out alright ..

The real test will be on the road ... We'll soon see how that goes ? ... ( Or in this case, STOPS )

BTY ... I'm going to be using the power steering pump from the C30 truck, from what I've been told they have a higher pressure than trucks without hydroboost ..

download (8).jpg

Had to move the pin up 3/4" .. The angle for the pushrod was binding .. Drilled a new hole pressed in the oem pin and welded the back side ...

Think I'll flip it over so the lines will be at the bottom of the unit ...

Didn't  like the paint job I did on the hydroboost plate to firewall, with all the test fittings I'm doing it got boogered up some .. So I redid it in powder coat instead of wet paint ..

Thinking it'll look better with the lines at the bottom ..
