TD6 fuel problem

Working on a TD6 that has been sitting a while. Working on the fuel system. Runs great on gas but can't get the final fuel filter to bleed. Fuel flow is good. New filters. Auxiliary filter is full and bled but nothing in the final when running on gas. All lines are clear. Screen on the primary pump is clean. Think its got to be the primary pump itself. Of course on a crawler, you have to take the starter out first which is also a pain and a finger pincher. Wondering before I take the primary off what to look for when i get it off. Is there something that can stick inside? Worked on a few of these diesels before but never had this problem. Usually the rack is stuck in the injection pump.

When it's running on gas advance the throttle slightly, you are not moving it so far as to switchover but you are starting to prime the diesel side, if you have an operation guage on the pump it should be in the correct range and you should see a bit of smoke change out the stack, the more you advance the throttle the more evident that change should be.

Make sure there is fuel out the top of the rear filter with the engine not turning, if not wait for it, it takes a bit of time, the tank level has to be more than the rear filter , once there is fuel out the top of the rear filter do not open the bleeder again, run the engine on gas with the front filter bleeder open until it gets fuel and then you should have fuel pressure and then do what Hardtail said to get the fuel to the injectors. If it doesn't get fuel out the top of the rear filter something is plugged or off, if you have fuel out the top of the rear filter and nothing out the top of the front filter, then the charge pump or filters are suspect, if you make pressure to Injector Pump and nothing at the injectors, the High Pressure pump is probably stuck in the up position.

Got it going. Turns out the keys were sheared off on the primary pump shaft. Pump was full of sticky crap. Cleaned everything up and put 2 new keys in and had engine running for the first time on diesel in many years tonight.
