Delta88 Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 I have a leak in one of the discharge fittings on the injector pump of my 5288 (Ambac 100). Its not leaking where the line connects but where the discharge connects to the head. Can I remove the discharge fitting without going thru all of the normal disassembly of the head? What would you seal it with? Is it safe to use thread locker? TKS Quote
J-Mech Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Sometimes you can just loosen the line, tighten the fitting and your done. No, thread locker isn't rated for the pressures produced in diesel injection. It won't help, nor is it a good idea to use. If just a tiny bit of it gets in the line and goes to the injector.... could be bad. Don't take the head off the pump for any reason. Sometimes the delivery valve in the center will blow the copper ring and leak. You sure it isn't that? If you can't tighten it up and it stop leaking, pull the pump and send it in. Head is probably bad. Quote
