BrunsFarms Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Went to TSC yesterday. This is what they have for Ertl toysNo IH or Case Tractors, other than pulling tractors. Also was looking on EBay and found this. Is this something worth buying? Or would I just be throwing money away? 2 Quote
Farmallh194012345 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I don’t care for tsc tractors because they are sooo generic 1 Quote
Farmallh194012345 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I don’t think I’d buy that from eBay unless you were in that time frame. You could tweak it to be in the 50s/60s Quote

Farmallh194012345 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Ok that would work just depends if you wanna spend 100$ I’d prolly do it because some of those I’ve never seen before and there is cornpickers you could put them outside and weather them. 1 Quote
Farmallh194012345 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Put in a offer for like 70$ if no go to 85$ that’s what I’d do Quote
BrunsFarms Posted January 19 Author Posted January 19 I did the math and its $98/24 pieces and that is roughly $4 a piece, a good deal in my option. I understand the lower offers and I think I would offer $90. Which comes out to be $3.75 a piece. Plus $11 shipping, $101. Decent deal I think. 1 Quote

BrunsFarms Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 I have figured how big I want my buildings on my display. Shop-60' x 80'- which translates to 11" x 15" Steer barn-65' x 100' - which translates to 12" x 19" For the manure storage building, I am thinking about using this ertl barn from a different set that I have. 3" x 6" which in real life is 12' x 24' Quote
Alan Dinan Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Those model railroad buildings work well for those types of buildings. I looked for mine while at the shop but couldn’t locate which box they were in. Quote
BrunsFarms Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 I'm thinking I want to save some money and build it out of extra plywood we have. Quote

I tried making corrugated metal from tearing off a layer of flat cardboard off of one side of a box. I think it would have worked if I would’ve tried a little more. 1 Quote
BrunsFarms Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 I've been poking around for what people use to detail their displays. Manure- coffee grounds Gravel- lime?? I'm not sure about this one. Field-real dirt sifted really fine Grass- static grass Styrofoam- Rolling hills or for a good base 1 Quote
BrunsFarms Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 I have this coming hopefully by the end of March. 1978 Chevrolet Silverado K30 Crew Cab Fleetside Lifted They also had this one, but I wanted a truck that was more of a rebuild truck, and not a old work truck. Alan Dinan Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Found my buildings today. They are looking rough, and need to be painted. Shop and cold storage shed. In the shop I used brass channel for door track (one is broken) and the door is thin plastic with ribs that flexes around the bend of the channel. 5 Quote
BrunsFarms Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Been working on the display slowly. Scratch made straw/bean stubble/cornstalk bales. Took dowel rods and cut it 3/4 in. Covered them in saw dust. 4 Quote
