Alan Dinan Posted January 14 Posted January 14 When I was a kid, we had a ping pong table in the basement that no one used anymore, so that became my layout table. I saw two pieces of plywood laying along the railroad tracks near my house that must have blown off a train. I carried them about a 1/4 mile home and cut them square again because they rolled and broke the corners off where they hit the ground. I used sugar and Elmer’s glue to make rock road and driveways. Painted a field Oliver green, because dad had some left over from painting the Super 88. I then used cotton balls stretched out to make windrows of hay, covering them with the Oliver paint also. Then took an old wooden broomstick and cut it up for round bales. Got my mom to buy a box of toothpicks with the yellow plastic stuff on the top of them for my cornfield. I drilled rows of holes in the plywood to put them into. Then I found a piece of old paneling and built a shed out of that. It was all very crude, but worked fine for a 9-10 year old boy! 2 Quote
