Brought the 856 home from work a couple weeks ago when the weather was good and the road salt disappeared. 

Today was its day of reckoning,  put it on grain vac. Ironically vacing beans out of a bin I rented at the farm I bought it from. In the first picture it was sitting where that green gravity box is now sitting. 

Last year this vac made the 2090 grunt for all its worth. Figured the turbo 407 would handle it, which it did but boy did it work. I grabbed the throttle and water proceeded to flow out the right side of the head gasket. Couple minutes in I almost threw in the towel but I figured all this tractor did the last 15 years was cut hay, I'd give it a chance to heat up and seal. After 30 minutes the drips had quit and the cart was full. Hardly a haze of smoke out the pipe I was happy as could be. No tac, no water guage yet, waiting to get them redone.

Almost 2 years and no updates.....

The 856 hit the show circuit this summer, did some field work this fall, then in Jan it got its turn in the shop.

I put LED bulbs in the dash, and all new wiring to fenders courtesy of Porch Elec. They currently have incandescent bulbs but will get LED's as they burn out. Pulled the PTO back out to fix 3-point draft tube leak. Also put the correct 56 series single hydraulic outlets on it. Took off the homemade oil tube and put on good used parts from Knights Tractor salvage. As of now I'm satisfied with the tractor and will leave it be until the head gasket gets bad enough to need replacement.
