I’m assuming the “bar axel” means that it sticks out past the rims? I’m coming from a Ford 8n, lol. This is all new to me. The serial number is stamped RC. I 574D-RC tag says. So, is the taller or shorter fender the correct one? It’s all apart now getting ready to paint but I’d like them to match up.

Makes sense, my axels stick out past the rims by about 8” or more, so is the taller fender a row crop fender? Taller than the regular fender? Left fender is 3” taller than right side. Not sure the difference between a row crop or regular model. I’ve read 584’s had smaller rear tires and 674 had the 18.4-30 but also read they put the 18’s in 574’also. Just need the taller right side fender. Ugh

    574

looking for some help and/or advice here. What is the difference for a 574 rear fender flat tops? On the parts catalogue one is listed as a row crop fender and the other is listed as a non-row crop fender. Does anyone know the difference I need to get a new fender? My left fender is about 3 inches taller than my right fender so obviously somebody had swapped them out at some point, the tires on my tractor are 18.4–30
  4. Thanks for that info!! People are telling me run Stanadyne double dose a couple tanks to get the gum off of it, sending it out, can the 574 pump be tuned to a 674 hp? What shop and where are you? Waiting for the mechanic to remove it for me. -G
  5. Now when I start it the rpms go almost to the PTO mark on the tach
  6. It rests back on the stop screw
  7. so, just finished brush hogging and my idle won’t come down, shut it off tried again and idle went way up. It’s a diesel. Throttle rod sits back on the set /stop screw. Any ideas? thanks
  8. does it make a difference that the lever is stiff? it is not sloppy, seems to heve good tension? just curious, Also would "dirty" hydraulic fluid make a difference? When I bought it the guy gave me a fliter for the hydraulic fluid and said he didn't have a chance to change it? Level is full where it should be. Also, another dumb question, the lift links, I installed new ones , what are the 3 holes on link housing? I noticed after they were set, I can raise and lowere the link housings without resistance. Is there a pin to go into one of the 3 holes? Thanks, -G
  9. So, I’ve tried every combination, draft control lever down, position lever up/ down multiple times, and it won’t lift the arms. The draft lever is the only one that raises the arms/brush hog. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, -G
  10. Thanks, I’ll check it
  11. On the control levers, the outside lever is the only one that raises and lowers the arms. The middle one does absolutely nothing, I’ve tried every combination, such as the outside lever all the way down, the inside lever does nothing, put it all the way back and no lift, if I move the the outside lever all the way back( towards the fuel tank) it raises the arms. Then if I lower the inside lever, nothing happens? So, it seems the outside lever is the only one to raise and lower the arms. Either all the way up or all the way down.
  12. Ha, sorry. I just bought the tractor and the tachometer does not have a cable attached to it at all so I bought a new dash and a new diameter and a new cable so that’s where I’m at. Forgot to mention
  13. So, will a new cable and tach work? Or does the part on the timing cover go bad?
  14. Found it! Thanks -G
  15. Have to replace my tach and cable on my newly purchased 1976 IH 674. Bought the tach and cable, just need to know where the cable goes? It’s not obvious to me. thanks for any help -G
