  1. HydroTek, im back after a long absence. The circuit breaker also has a feed from key switch 1, the starter and the regulator. I don't appear to have enough terminals towards to upper numbers and too many on connection 2. The only place to connect green CB to Key 5 is terminal 2. This however lights everything up all the time. Also I thought it logical to connect key to resistor on term 2 and resistor to plugs on term 3. That however creates a constant feed when key position 2 is selected. Are you in the UK?
  2. HydroTek, thank you for your response. I have been, and currently still am, working away from home. I do appreciate your support and will get back yo uou once im able to progress the job.
  3. Thank you. I'll investigate further tomorrow and get back to you.
  4. This is the original key switch. I can only assume it was wired correctly as the tractor was a non runner when I got it. Thus is tge new Switch. This is the new wiring loom. All of the colours match and i double checked through continuity before labelling them. This is the new 35A circuit breaker. This is the new heater plug indicator, albeit the wire swirl instantly turned molton and melted.. Hopefully the above is the right info you need.
  5. I'll send you a picture in the morning (UK) if that's OK👍
  6. I have written before BUT still have a problem. My project IH434 did not have a wiring loom so I cannot compare. I have a new wiring loom and ignition barrel. The barrel is only 6 pin, as they no longer make 7 pin barrels. All of the wiring so far have run smoothly BUT I cannot get the ignition barrel to work. The closest I got simply burnt out my [new] heater Indicator. I have followed the wiring diagram to the letter BUT cannot get the 7 wires to work with 6 pins. Also I have 2 wires left over, which came with the new loom. I have no idea what they are for. Any ideas??
  7. Blimey. No responses. Aren't there any kean electrians out there??
  8. The above is my original (broken) ignition switch. 6 individual wire terminals. 4 terminals are very large. The above is the replacement. 7 terminals, which are grouped and only 2 are very large. Through continuity testing I can confirm that the terminals appear to be: 6 o'clock - ON 9 o'clock- Lights 12 o'clock - Heater Plugs 3 o'clock - Starter With all that said am I right to understand that cable wise: 6 o'clock - Key Switch to Circuit Breaker. Only one of the 2 terminals to be used. 9 o'clock- Key Switch to Warning Lights AND Circuit Breaker to Key Switch. Only two of the 3 terminals to be used. 12 o'clock - 2.no Key Switch wires to Indicator Redistor. Two wires to share 1 terminal. 3 o'clock - Key Switch to Starter. One wire to 1 terminal. Where needed I'd have to change wire large female connectors for standard. Hope the above makes sense. Thank y'all in advance. John
  9. Cheers Jeff, cheers HydroTek. Great info thanks.
  10. Hi all, in short can I install an in-line 30A fuse instead of the 30A dashboard circuit breaker (used for starting/heater plugs). My query is purely based on cost difference. Pence versus £80. Kean to know 'why not' if the answer is 'no'. I can't find any info on the circuit breaker 'type' (B, C or D). TIA John
  11. Hi there, I am restoring an IH 434 and would like to know it's history. What i have is: Registration plate - AA162H, but the H had fallen off and re added, so it might not belong at the end. IH plate reads Ser No - B25 303. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. John

  13. Hello, I am restoring a 434 with no previous wiring harness to refer back to. Firstly - My new ignition barrel has 4 posts but my new wiring harness [and old ignition barrel] has 6 cables/posts. Which wires double up? Secondly - the new harness has a ring ended cable (thin black) around the starter motor area. Is this to go under a mounting bolt? It's the tight size. Thirdly - there is a very thick earth cable on the old starter. Where does this fix onto the tractor? It currently does not have an end fitted. TIA John
  14. I am embarking on my first IH 434 restoration and need a breakdown/illustration for the hydraulic tank (under the seat). My system has damage and I want to see what it should look like when serviceable, and replace damaged parts. The IH 434 Service Manual says that I need to read "Farm Equipment hydraulic system manual SM-20." I can't find it anywhere. Any assistance in sourcing this manual would be greatly appreciated. John
