I just got a 656D 282 the old owner told me to make sure I turn off the fuel. I forgot and when I started it fuel and oil came out of the blow by like a fire hose. Could the fuel be getting past the injection pump into the crank case?

Time for the new be question. I forgot to shut off the fuel on my 656, and when I started it fuel and oil shot out of the blow by tube. I shut it down right away. my question is could I have a bad injector pump or is the fuel leaking past the injector tubes. thanks Mike

Red flyer I was thinking of the solenoid. I saw that Pete from just a few acres put one on his 656 and it seemed to work well. benderoid how can I address the fuel drain back. Could it be a week pump 560 Dennis copy on the 11.8 volts int 504 I’ll try the head light trick

Cold start enrichment circuits? I'm not sure what that is thanks everyone for taking the time to educate me I just purchased a small 13 acre farm at the age of 61. Some said that I was crazy but the people I’ve met are the best and most thoughtful I’ve ever met.

I’m going to check the compression but I’m not sure how much voltage I should be getting at the glow plug. I did install a new battery. I also replaced the button for the glow plugs

The engine does start after it’s been running for a while but it takes a few seconds before it starts

The meter does go all the way over. I’ll try using the stopwatch to insure the time is enough thanks

Hollo everyone I just purchased my first 656 diesel the old owner always started it with ether. I replaced all of the wiring to the glow plugs and replaced the glow plugs. but still no luck. any ideas thanks Mike
