Hi @pt756, another fellow Wisconsinite! Nice to meet you. J and D Tube Benders does impressive work, and they’ve definitely grown a lot over the years. As far as how the bends are made, it usually comes down to a combination of patterning, machine setup, and operator experience. We mainly use three bending methods: rotary draw bending, roll bending, and compression bending. Each has its place depending on the tube size, bend radius, material, and complexity of the line. We have some pictures of those processes here: https://newhydraulics.com/pages/tube-bending For walk-in customers, about half of our day is spent making tubes and hoses while they wait. The other half is usually more involved jobs, along with building inventory for sale through our website. A lot of the work still starts with a physical pattern or sample line. We have a large library of used OEM parts that we’ve collected for more than 30 years, and we use those as patterns when recreating lines. The attached photo shows part of that pattern library. We also recently purchased our first 3D scanner and are building out a workflow to scan parts into a digital library. The goal is to compare a newly made part against the original pattern scan so we can identify and correct any differences before it goes out the door. Hello everyone, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Paul, and I’m posting here as Paul at NEW Hydraulics. I’m with NEW Hydraulics in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Some of you may already know me, or at least know of us. I’ve had the chance to meet quite a few Red Power folks over the years, either in the shop or while displaying our products at the Red Power Roundup. Many of you may have also seen our ads in Red Power Magazine. I’ve had the pleasure of making tractor parts for many of you over the past 9 years. Many of you may have also worked with Art from Art’s Services here in Oshkosh before he retired in 2017. I bought out Art’s Services at that time and have continued serving many of the same Red Power customers since. I wanted to join the forum myself, not to clutter things up or turn this into an advertisement, but to be available as a resource for anyone working on older IH, Farmall, and Case IH equipment. A big part of what we do is parts replication, especially hydraulic tubes, hoses, and other hard-to-find lines. We have a fairly large collection of patterns and parts for this market already, and we’re always willing to look at making whatever is needed. We can also help with one-off pieces for special projects, repairs, or situations where the original part is missing, damaged, obsolete, or just plain hard to track down. I’ve always appreciated the older red iron and the people who keep it working. There is a lot of knowledge on this forum, and I’m looking forward to learning from the group and helping where I can.
