The chrome rings might be a nice touch around those tail lights.

It really turning out beautiful.

Giving me inspiration to start on my '59 B120 original red on red. Even had red rims from factory. Same box as yours.

Yes, It needs something in rear to tie into bumper.

Maybe that's why they all had farmer bumpers:P

Sometimes less is more,  I like how the tail lights disappear into the red paint.  But its your truck,  & your footing the bill.  Glad your showing us great build of it.  thanks

You may very well be right.

I agree with many times less is more.

However, I was looking at rear and thought maybe it needs something more ? I was looking at a brochure of a I.H. travelall with a chrome ring around its tail lights and asked Rob about it and he said he knew were a set was ,I said, get them lets try it for a lookie-see

I also think just the license plate with nice holder may be enough to break it up.

Appreciate your thoughts and I have a gut feeling your right.

As nice as that truck is I would leave it just the way it is.

It's perfect.

Beautiful!

is that cover on wiper motor a horn button repurposed?  Looks like same as horn button on my B120 and 1850 loadstar.

Glad it's all coming together for you!

Yes ,  We did not like the wiper motor appearance so he modified that to it.

We had our horn  cover so that that one would be better suited on there.

I really like how that air cleaner turned out.....it's really cool how you've managed to keep a lot of the original aspects of the machine, and mix in some modern upgrades that don't detract from the overall appearance of the truck....I really like this build!  Can't wait to see it all finished!!

 Thank You Guys !

I am a nervous wreck waiting to see it finished after all this Time ,Patients & money.

Hoping it will hold its own against all the Chevys & Fords out there.

I did not set out to make it a show truck ,It originally was just going to be a red service truck to show with my tractors , However, we started and where do we stop ? So, we went all the way.

I always thought if I did a show vehicle it would be a 1964 Chevelle or a 1957 Ford Fairlane  or a 56 Ford F-100 P.U. which were my  first vehicles.  However, the 66 Binder was the first vehicle I drove to High school ,day after getting my drivers license . Was my Dad's farm truck.

So, in essence this truck substitutes for a 64 Chevelle & 57 Ford. 56 F-100, Because I can never do another professional vehicle restoration , too much patients & money is needed.

I will say though, I have another 66 I.H. 3/4 ton flat bed with factory propane 304 V8 that Bob and I may do if Good Lord Permits us the time and money for it . but it will be done by us and it will be the I.H. service truck for my Redgems.

It belonged to Our local Blacksmith who helped me much in my early days repairing old I.H. equipment for farming, was all I could afford at the time and they made me. He has since passed and I bought it from his Grandson, Whom He willed it too.

    Thank You guys,

      Tony

Well your IH pickup will be a one of a kind at any show, can't say that about any ford or chevy! So I think you made the right choice IMHO.

Nice little flatbed too!  You must really like the smell of burnt propane ? Just kidding.

Time and Money ... never enough of either unfortunately.

Yes , I got addicted to propane exhaust smell & cotton lent aroma from the cotton picking machines. Growing up around them .

it was a distinctive aroma that I learned to love.

A good running L.P. is a very clean ,pleasant aroma.

 Checked on Binder today .

Its in Paint booth for touch -ups & Emblem painting .

They are working on getting original seat frame aligned well and fitting  & attaching the speaker boxes behind seat in lower cab corners.

Should be going to upholstery next week.

Nice build, who's doing the work?

I did some work on my 64 a couple years ago, not a complete restoration like yours.

  Guys ,

I have not posted progress since end of March because Rob is doing lot of little stuff. He painted emblems & lettering on grill and we have started it runs great but had some linkage re-makes to better operate.  Had to add more of a loop on one tail pipe to keep it from hitting rear end.

Ran it out to check engine temps etc . The electric fan blew up , so , re-engineer mounting and use different brand.

Wheels were being built as we spoke to manufacture last week .

Upholster said he is ready for it.

I am trying to get it registered at DMV but being I bought it out of state & its been NOP & restored  they need me to take it in and they need to inspect it complete ?

The said I can drive it in with out of state plates.

WE need to drive it and check it out before we get to far along at this point.  Was hoping wheels were here so we can get it lined & balanced before going to upholstery.

I have always thought the details can make or break any restoration.

Looks like you have endorsed my theory.

Details take the longest and are the hardest.

      Finishing touches on exhaust.

Ready for upholstery ,while waiting for wheels to arrive.

Working with Hagerty to bind insurance on it.

Unfortunately, hood is ajar, not completely closed thus the larger gaps.
