A world of cooling happens in the second it takes t0 burn thru a cotton shirt. But the thread bare material over my chest was no match for the uv light. I never did many projects that I welded for hours on end, so flannel or denim general was enough protection. Learned to keep sun screen in the box of welding supplies. Son got better training he will not strike a ark without he puts his leathers on. I bought some shirts from western welder with a good starch i get burnt less than with leathers. Just forgot the old wrangler shirt was not the same...

mader656
100 degrees Blew a 1" x20 foot hydraulic hose on the post pounder and the seals went out on the main lift cylinders all within one post today when i started the hole it was bleeding off quickly when i finished it would not lift the mast. Got home and saw the cylinders case was dented and took out the seals... not fixable... got all that cleaned up and saw both tractors have a flat on the front... this week has had 3 mondays so far...
mader656
Hammer lift hose blew when i caught the drop to fast...the impact of 800lb falling from sky blew the seals on the main lift ram... went to pull the piston and found the body was dented and the cylinder was junk. Can't find thst cylinder locally or surplus center so its adapt something else. I like farm store in-stock parts so 2 2.5x12 cylinder and some hoses later it works...just gotta finish welding it up. Wife went to town had her get some fittings and while waiting put the pump drive seals in the 656.
mader656
Forks for a loader that goes more than a mile per hour. Just wish the operator station rotated for visibility like trackmader. trackmader had his hydraulic problems so weld time. Went from a single 4 inch cylinder that would lift way higher than needed to to 2 2.5 inch cylinders in a more vertical path.

mader656
6 miles directly up wind with nothing but dry grass in between us. Glad it was caught when it was. That fresh smoke and light on the horizon sure wakes you up. 55 acres, pretty small. All out now good thing to cause we had 3 hours of 50 mph winds today.

But when they are all here the response is really fast.

mader656
Well i hit a rock...peeled the pipe open Saw this old woven wire looks homemade 9ga top and barb on the bottom.
mader656
Took the old 656 up to the camp we support to help move some rocks....in good news i get to do the clutch while its warm not later this winter... might as well do the ta while im in there...it needs it.... was able to get enough clutch to get up on the trailer, blade and loader off. That clutch went fast. Like within 1000 yards from kill the motor in any gear to near nothing. More stuff to do in a already busy fall
