acem
I am getting ready to do some painting and need some help with paint codes. I searched the forum and found many references to paint codes for red and white but not black. I copied a list of paint codes from another post at the bottom. I will be painting several tractors over the next few years and want to use the same paints if at all possible. I even plan to paint my convertible IH red! There are several reds. I will be painting tractors from a 706 to 5488 but plan to use one red. I had planned to use IH 2150 (PPG 71310) but some said IH 50 (PPG 70019) looks better with the new paints. What do y'all think? There are several whites. Which one looks best on the 06 to 86? I didn't see a code for the silver used on 88 series wheels. Is there a code for the low gloss black used on the 88 frames and 86/88 cab interiors? This is the paint I need first. superih
I have Gloss Red as PPG 71956, not 78009. What is 78009? When you say Harvester Cream, which Cream number is that? The Gold I have listed is 4357 Gold (1969), but no cross number The rest of your numbers I have the same thing.
R190
As for which one looks best that is personal taste you gotta live with the choice not me I have been painting tractors since 67 alway used 991010r1 which was IHs number for 2150 red inless it is a 50series than the later color. Only thing I ever wanted to paint 50 red was a 49 kb2 And am satisfied with the color of all of them. Thats what I think looks best.

Eason
John Glancy happens to have a 1969 gold IH pickup the 4357 color. This is what the original gold color was for the gold demos. acem
I found a CIH paint chart. It lists two blacks. Gloss black MS 50 used from 1981 to 1988 and non glare black MS 45 used from 1988 to 1999. I thought the 50 series used a low gloss black??? What is the correct black? And what is a PPG code for it? DirtBoyz07
The red that you want is PPG /Omni 71956 acrylic urathane and the white I can get for you . The black , you just add the additive to it and makes it semi gloss , also from PPG . The silver is the brightest silver you can have them mix in acrylic urathane and before you put your color on use there epoxy primer and this stuff will never come off .
