Oh, and the A/C would also keep out the smoke when we have a dry year

A/c in a home is 1 of the western worlds greatest inventions imho.  Dad did it in 82.  Never have touched the heat pump for fear of jinxing it now.  They moved to town in spring.  By Oct had a/c heat pump installed.  Nothing nicer than a cool refreshing home at the end of a hot dusty day.

Very much so, and when it takes the humidity down and you don't feel sticky it sure seems like you have a nicer nights sleep.

i think a really small unit here would work great

Yes it cools down, but not much, my house will still be 68* at 5am, and then the sun hits it and were over 70* quick, so by Noon we are well on our way to 80, and that is just no fun.  You get him a bit after 5:00 and its low 80* in the house, so sleeping is miserable.  We have a forced air furnace so the idea of getting an A/C unit has real appeal but we haven't done anything about it yet

I don't care where your from, that cold will slow you down, glad it doesn't happen to much, although your in a much colder area then me

My house is a lot smaller and cools better than yours.  Might be better shading too.   If it gets down to 60 overnight I can have my house at that temperature by morning.  If I close the windows before I leave it'll still be in the low 70s when I get home.   The bad times are when it's smoky and you don't want to open the windows overnight.

Look into split units.  They come in various sizes, but the big advantage is not losing all the insulation like you do with a window unit.   One outside unit can run multiple inside heads too depending on the unit.

Like the Mitsubishi units that have a small head at the top of the wall with a unit outside?

Yeah.  There are a lot of different brands.    The Salcha Store has some now if you haven't seen them in action before.   I think they're running two heads per outside unit, but I've seen ones that run 3-4 inside heads.

We had one of those great days that are a family memory,

No, not my boat, a friend from work offered to take us out on his boat. Very very nice boat that he takes good care of and has a lot of pride in.   We cruised out and back at nearly 35 mph, amazing

I hope it is sitting in your driveway now. Looks like a pretty good deal for $800.

Nothing wrong with the deal, it's just how many deals keep popping up

So is it in your driveway or not?  If I didn't have so many projects I can tell you it'd be in mine!    I need to get the carb rebuilt in the wagonmaster so I can start driving that.

That's awesome. As mentioned above, winch is worth that. What year and model #?

Tomorrow I will dig into the details.  The truck has been sitting most of the last decade, started and used a bit here and there.  Last tags were from 2010, and the battery was put in it in 09.

So so here's the deal, he aired up the tires and had moved it down to the driveway, so we went over, put a new battery in it, 5 gallons of gas in the tank behind the seat, dribbled a little gas down her thoat, and cranked it a lot, got it running shook the guys hand, loaded a fire extinguisher and headed down the road.

needs a tune up, and some TLC, but runs pretty good.  Electronic ignition and a carb cleaning and it will be a good farm truck.  I hope to make this my winch truck with a gin pole in the back,

Check behind the glovebox for the Line setting ticket ,  They are very helpful

in identifying the parts the truck came from factory with .

Great deal on a tough truck !!  Good Luck
