I don't know about the centers, but I think those tires are the same size my 4020 JD uses if that tractor is still available.

As far as sleds go...   I didn't ride mine once.  It's a John Deere Spitfire

I've seen a guy use exhaust tubing as a spacer to make a smaller axle take a larger hub clamp.

Went a picked up some steel, little bit of channel, some box tubing, and got floored when he told me the price, holy cow.

As a rule I have been seeing prices in the 60 to 70 cents a pound up until now.  99 cents a pound, what the ?   So I talked with the guys at the counter, and work orders thru them a lot, he says they are getting more US steel now, they are not seeing Chinese import steel very much, so the US mills are raising the price so they can make a living.  And there has been a price rise every month since January.  15 cents a pound in March.

I priced a 24 foot length of 3x3 square .250 wall this week with a local steel company (15 miles away ), was $220 before tax (didn't ask about delivery as its a short trip to pickup) . Then I called a place 70 miles away there price was $184 before tax ,delivery included. Sometimes you have to shop around.

I guess the fact (if it is fact) that the US steel companies are picking up business would explain why shred scrap iron is at $195( Canadian $ ) a ton in the bigger centers here.

my wifes raised garden boxes are  48*

her covered garden boxes (covered in clear plastic) are 52*

And we are having over 20 hours of sunlight a day.

?, i really noticed the day lengths all the sudden.  8 or so is drive with out lights nearly already.  Been cloudy so long my guage is off!  Covering really help you see.  Now lets all pray for a NORMAL like late spring and summer.  Is anyone dry?  Is anyone got normal wet n heat?

Seen steel was up.  Brought in dump truck load and actually pocketed some cash after paying for some appliances.  It was junk even.  Tin etc.  I honestly am fine buying USA metal for more.  Even long time local welder says the import stuff is inconsistent at best.

We are not dry, seems a shower moves thru every day or so, but nothing soaking us, on the average side for temps.   Spent the weekend getting the flower patch going, and walked the new ground a bit.  It could be a nice year for growing.  The wife has been planting and fussing in her garden and that makes her happy

I don't mean to complain about the price of steel, I was just suprised the price was up 1/4.  If it's a good product I am willing to pay a fair price, so someone can have a fair wage.  Aren't we all?

I am willing to pay for quality every time, but that extra gets lost in the pockets of management and never reaches the peasants.  I am constantly being asked to work more hours for the same or less $$ while stock holders see 15% gains.  I'm not a mathematician by any stretch but.....

Yeah.  They come down and say that prices are down we need to take a pay cut or give up a raise.

not very often you hear of them saying that it's been a good year so here's a few dollars

They claimed 15% gains not returns. I don't own stock and don't want to.  Sadly I have little faith in their numbers and little respect for the way they allow people to be treated. There is more too it than the dollar sign for me be it foolish or otherwise.

they have a SMALLER center than my 460, and larger diameter axles.  I am still pondering,

And then we got this Thursday night

IMG_4030.jpg.d411566c8ad753bee99a0b60d0534103.jpg

yep, snow.  this was 4 the next afternoon,  we had a thunder boomer come thru with a bit of Hail, then it rained on top of it and snowed a little bit.  So now we are hoping that the frost didn't burn any of the sprouting flowers.

The wife and the kids headed south last night, my boy is having another surgery, prayers would be appreciated for his procedure on Friday.

while they are gone I was going to do a bit off my to do list, started today by working on a steel rack for my steel storage, then awakening one of the old trucks from the dead, i need a crane, so i am hoping to put on some gin poles and do some stupid stuff
