An update

The surgery went very well and we are out and getting something to eat.

Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, and kindness.  It really means a lot to me and words fail me

At the train station waiting for next run to the airport, carrying two 5 gallon buckets of tractor parts and a duffle bag with a hydraulic cylinder. And a small duffle of clothes.

going home Alaska style

Made it.  Home at last.  Ended up running in to a fried in Seattle, and a snow storm.  They were canceling some other flights, de-icing and moving gates.  We were scheduled to land in fairbanks at 11:59, we took off at 12:20.

At at least it was our last leg, we landed and there were people flying south that you just knew were going to miss connections

Me and Nate sat in the top car on the ride to the airport,

was a nice ride, very empty on Super Bowl Sunday, got to see a little bit of farm land,

then today day we saw the red polls are back

that seems to be a better sign that Spring is coming than any ground hog.  I always throw out some seed for them, they sure come for it

My wife brought home two rescue kittens last week, boy are they something. A set of litter mates that are just 8 weeks old.   They are great fun to watch, and are they into everything

We got 10 inches of snow this week, and they claim more tonight, so I took some time to push out the other yard and the in laws place since it warmed up over 30 today?

460 started iceing up the carb and getting weird, added Heet and it ran well the rest of the day.

Broke the precleaner so I need to order one of those this week, Devons?

Just finished up at the house and it started snowing.  Maybe I get to repeat tomorrow

It probably sounds crazy, but send some of the snow down this way! We can use it (for sledding of coarse) lol.

Funny how it goes when you warm up we get cold when we warm up here temp wise you get cold there. Must be some relation in the jet stream somehow. Talking lows of -25 C and highs of around -10C which is perfect for me right now. Trying to finish up logging and it's been a little miserable with the warm weather we've had. Limbs will not break off and I've been skidding trees in mud. Actually quit for a week as it was getting a little ridiculous. You been out on the sleds at all? Snow's virtually gone at the farm here. Little further north there's rideable snow yet though. Hopping to get a few more rides in yet this winter.

Heck, just a few hours southeast there isn't enough snow, let's hope you get some,

Weird how that works, and we are suppose to be a high of 15*F below zero Tuesday, fresh snow and then deep cold is so much fun

Usually turns cold here after a snow. Makes snow removal more interesting in a open cab anything lol.. We snowplow with the skid steer and there's no door on it so we get well acquainted with the elements there too. I'm happy with temps around 0F though. Lesat for a few weeks anyways. wouldn't mind a little more snow once we're done logging so I can go play again. Sure don't want a foot right now though. Have about 70 big white spruce trees on the ground and it's no fun digging them out of the snow.

Sound like it's just as spotty where you are as it is here too. We still got snow but no more than a foot now. 2 weeks ago we had about 2-3 in the fields. 15 miles south doesn't have much and 45 miles north, across the "mountain" there's nothing. Guys could be out picking stones in the fields there. We usually don't get this kind of melt though till end of march so it was really early. But I keep thinking were going to get alot more snow.

Is that a couple summit's on the trailer a few pics back?

We're in the same boat here. Wanted to start logging but there wasn't enough snow and the ground wasn't froze early in the year. It actually still isn't froze much in the bush. Got some skidded but ground was getting muddy for the last 3 weeks. Hopefully this week we can get at it. Gotta get the mill running already.

I think you need a cab kit on your skid steer lol. Worth every penny with our winters.

Woke up to 8 inches of fresh snow, glad I do plow yesterday because 14 inches on the ground surely would have taxed the 460 and the blade.  Not enough traction

It seem that it's coming over the mountains and we're getting it a ways away, which sure makes poor mountain riding
