Just got a 560 wheatland gas home sn 4312. Needing the left mud sheild. The one between the rear fender and center steering section.

Pistons are in on super M and bearings were torqued to spec and we are ready to set on the head and try to have it running for the first tractor pull of the year!

1982 IH-5288 began ground up restoration in 2010 and completed late 2011. Everything that needed attention was repaired or replaced and now everything works as it did when knew.

Money invested, $5500 paid for tractor in 2010. Est $4000 in paint and new interior and all other parts.

I bought what I thought was a Utility 300 tractor, but nice folks on here helped me determine it is a 1958 Utility 350. I'm trying to make it a runner, and have been videoing things as I progress. Here is a link to the latest video, part 6:

My latest snag occurred when I found the rotocaps for the exhaust valves need replacing....those little things are expensive!

Here are some before and after picures of my first restoration. Mechanical it was in good shape. Had a cracked intake manifold, which was why it was parked. Someone had taken off the fuel cap and the tank was full of squarrel beds and droppings. Tin was in BAD shape. Tractor had been on a speed sprayer most of it's life and the metal was eaten away. The first picture at the plow days was about 1 year after I completed restoration. Second after picture was about 3 years later after I purchased a small hobby farm. I have been using it on the farm, which was the intent. I think it is more fun to use than to look at!

The FEL in the 4th picture was from one of my Dad's tractors (Same tractor, IH OS6, and only a few hundred numbers apart). He bought his tractor new in 1946, and the FEL new in 1948, after seeing one like it mounted on a I6 at the fertilizer plant. He didn't want the loader any more, His tractor is for Looking at :)

Here's mine. My grandfather bought this '48 H new in '47 and was his first tractor. Until then all he had were horses to do the farm work. He retired it from daily use in the late 60's and has pretty much been parked under the lean-to next to the machine shed since. In the last 25+/- years it has been started and moved three times, twice by me. When grandpa passed away, I brought it home to Texas from Southwest Missouri about 10 years ago where it sat at my in-laws in the shop collecting dust until I could get around to tinkering with it. I finally brought it home yesterday and will slowly start the restoration. The engine was rebuilt in the mid-60's and has very few hours on it. All I had to do was file the points, put gas and a battery to it and she popped right off and runs smooth as can be. First up is to change all the fluids and filters, new front tires and brakes. Then I can start cleaning and and get it ready for paint. There's surface rust, but no rot and the sheet metal is straight as an arrow.

I just finished working on my late grandfathers 826 Hydro. I thought I'd post a few pictures here with before and after. The engine is fresh and the pump along with the injectors have all been rebuilt. The Hydro worked good so I left it alone. New breaks and new tires all the way around. I even found a NOS IH fender mount radio to install on it.

I would like to thank everone that help me with this project. I can't say enough how helpful Devon from Devons tractors parts was with suppling me with so many parts. Jeff Foreman for his help with the front badges and Scott Knight for having some very hard parts to find availible for me to purchase.

This is what it looked like when I brought it home last year.

This is how far I've made it so far. I must say that it was a fair amount of work but well worth it.



That's a sweet looking 826 you have there! I always like the 26 & 56 series tractors, especially when there a NF.
