Over-Running Couplers

What brand of Over-Running Couplers, also known as Over-Running Clutches are you guys using. I had a Hub City unit I purchased in 1969, it has been misplaced. I purchased two of the current Hub City units, pure junk, the splines have twisted on both of the units, these were rated for 75 HP, my tractors are putting out aprox 65 pto HP. Is there a good old USA built Over-Running Coupler made? I have talked to Hub City, all of theirs are now made in India. Thanks in advance.

Have used one from tractor supply co and did ok with a 6' brush hog on a 50hp tractor. Wish I had the brand name for you but it's lost deep in my mind and can't retrieve it as of now. But that's been 10 some years ago too. Manufacturing could of moved from USA to Mexico, to India or Indonesia by now lol. Sorry, but yeah quality is hard to buy these days. I thought maybe Hub City was an ok brand? Perhaps not.

Oh what was it application for? You obliviously need it to "free-wheel", but what is it running? Is your 65hp tractor turboed, diesel, ?? Had twisted and adapter one time with an allis chalmers d17 with a turbo charged 226 gas engine. Scalped a big pile of dirt for it to twist a complete spline.

Thanks guys. I am using it with a FMC sidewinder tire drive brush chopper. With the original Hub City unit I cleared a lot of acres, 6 ft high coyote brush and never bent anything. It looks like we just don't produce the quality equipment here anymore. One of the units I bought was from Tractor Supply, they did refund my money, good people to work with. Maybe I will try the over running coupler rated for 125 HP and see if I can twist that one. I use a IH TD6 62 with the 282 with the 9B turbo setup or I will use my 9B.
