My 1466

66 Series Farmer

Recommended Posts

Finished installing the front fenders on my 1466 yesterday morning i recently purchased at a farm sale. I have always liked the look of the old metal fenders. I know a lot of guys didn't like them, but i don't use the tractor much or very hard so they should work for me. post-68090-0-38789300-1390150614_thumb.j

Here is another pic which was too big for the last post. The paint was really good on them with no welds or cracks. The left one is bent down a little but not bad. Now i'm looking for a small set of IH mudflaps to redo the rubber on the bottom of them. Would like to find a set with the old IH logo on them. post-68090-0-12707600-1390150783_thumb.j

I love the looks of the ih front fenders and think they look great on your 1466. I know here in Wisconsin you can get small mud flaps at fleet farm with the ih logo on them, might be worth a shot to look it up on the internet.

Anything that keeps the front tires from flinging poopy into your face when you hit top speed on those '66 series tractors is ok in my book! Good lookin tractor and the fenders look good to.

They look good to me. May have to add some mudflaps to them if you run it on muddy roadsor you may get a face full! I used to hate driving our 886 on muddy roads always had mudd all over the windows!

Looks good. Dad had a set like that on his 806 years ago. Had to take them off when we put the loader on it. How does yours fasten on? His original spindle arms had a bolt that clamped the arm to the spindle and fender brackets used that bolt. New spindle arms use a nut to fasten the arm to the spindle from top so old fender brackets wouldn't work on that setup.

Love the set on my Hydro 100. They provide a handy step for fueling and checking the radiator also. Wished I had a pair for my open 1066.

You might look at Superscoutspecialist for IH mudflaps. They offer a set of white ones, if they are wide enuff, could be made to fit. My son put them on his Cornpro gooseneck.post-774-0-16477700-1390216187_thumb.jpg

I put these inexpensive flaps on my front fenders a couple years ago, you can find this style flap pretty easy.. if it works for you, I just cut the top curve off to make the flap strait and bolted on. can't get the pic to upload, say's it's too big, anyway they have a IH logo on bottom and say Farmall above the logo. 66 SF they look nice on your 14!
