TD, On the subject of kids, Yesterday was our local " Conway school ham dinner '' so as usual the Mrs. and I attend cause you know how it is you see people you don't get to see other wise. We get there and the first thing we notice as we go through the food line is it's all adults doing the work, For as long as I can remember the kids did most of the cleanup the serving of the milk and coffee and asked what kind of pie you would like. I asked a few people why no kids where doing the customary work and was told the kids are to busy with sports or they just don't know how to work anymore.

Today I was told it had to do with the State or County health Dept.which isnt allowing kids to do the work because the kids don't have a food handling card.

Now I'm.

Oh that food handling BS. At church when we do the 'down n out dinners' monthly we cannot allow them to touch the feed. We have to dish up everything with gloves. Its frikin casseroles and buns! I know a bunch is the kids are too 'busy' but if it was my show I would let...make them work and keep a look out for the Prius with the hippie and clip board.

Perfect R7120! Hey where in MI are you? I have kin in Holland and GR.

We farm and live in the greater South Albion and Concord areas. We are about a 2 hour drive from Holland.(107 miles away). Albion is right along the I-94 corridor. We actually farm on the east county line of Calhoun county and Western Jackson County.

I'm glad you liked my post. By the way I don't know who you were actually talking to with the picture of the cow and calf. But the funny thing is at first I thought " how did he know my first name?" Justin actually is my first name. I quickly realized you were talking to someone else. Odd Quincidence.

We just did a spaghetti dinner at church last Sunday for a fund raiser for Mission trips this summer to L.A. and Brazil. After Church everyone came to Family Life Center (Gym) and sat down. Tables were set and Kids that are going took orders and delivered food and drinks. I was in the kitchen, Dana put pasta on plate, I put sauce on, someone else put bread on and kids took them out. No charge, just donation, haven't heard how much we made. I didn't were gloves  and no one else did either. Haven't heard of a mass sickness outbreak from it so I guess we were lucky!!

Our 3588 had one, I think it is a cushion for the hydraulic system like an accumulator

Ours was eliminated by my local dealer when they were doing something to the tractor. Ours might have had the gear pump conversion rather than the piston pump

Thanks. ...does it have a piston pump or a gear then?

Don't remember for sure, but I think it is a gear

Man....7" near in 2 weeks. We knew the high 50s in Feb meant trouble. When I checked cows last night it was monsoon like raining. Crazy...but March. .

Trade you for our dry spring and fire weather again. I sure hope it rains some this spring.

TroyDairy,

Normally, the kind of dairy equipment you discuss on your thread is so far over my (old) head, I feel like a pig watching television. It's interesting, but I don't have a clue.

Now lack of moisture? I get that completely, if mader656 could share a couple inches of your rain for here at Helena, Montana, that'd sure be nice. We're dry. When you see bucket choppers carrying water into the smoky areas of a canyon, you wonder....? What's it going to be like in July? God Bless! OBG or Gary ;)

Forest fire 3-10-2015 red.jpg

Well two plus fires with 20 miles and another 50 miles away. 45 mile an hour winds to boot. It's been hot and Dry so they are hard to stop all fire dept. Are on it. Along with every cat available. HHopefully God will send rain.

Man I wish I could send it over guys! We are over records for the last month and near 8" over for the winter months. Everyone is having manure storage issues b/c of it.

Got the loader nearly done.

God Bless! You people in Montana! Hope you get some rain soon & you and yours are SAFE!

T/D Know what your facing with manure & water management . Makes a difficult job Harder. Still have the memories of helping my Dad during those wet years of trying to keep corals comfortable for cows and workable during milking. However, we did not have the sophistication of a good set up like you do now but its still difficult.

Rural life is great! but it comes with a price ,doesn't it?, that is what many in this generation are lacking, the experience of what it takes to persevere & be successful.

T/D,

Would love to help you out! But I looked all over my SMTA,400,560,S.C. 300u,806, & H , Cannot find anything that even resembles that picture and it does not even show it in my service manuals of them either!

I feel like what OBG described, "A pig watching T.V., interesting but don't have a clue"!

I'll say though! I can find all that kind of stuff on my Almond Equipment, Thank God for my Young employee ,Sal Jr., I just say to him, "you need to figure this out its above my pay grade" lol, lol. Some of the perks of being very close to seven decades. lol.

Troy, I saw Dicktater at a meeting Thursday night I asked him how much rain you guys have had up there, I was shocked when he said 4'' in the last week or so. Most of that has missed us I might come up with 1.5-2.0 in the last 2 weeks is about it. Guys are opening up fields here and there.
