That Rice brochure is very nice and I will look for one.

This McCormick Deering brochure is Canadian and it gives equal billing to the W Series as compared to the Farmall line. From what I am told and what I see the W Series was promoted a little more in Canada than the USA

Hillman: Can you check to se what year that brochure was published in. I have the same brochure but it shows the new Farmall tractors and the old 10-20, W-30, and W-40 standard tractors. The lower left corner has about one half inch torn off it but what I see is xxx165-DD 3-7. The suffix DD gives the year and I suspect this is  a spring 1940 edition since the new Farmalls are shown but still show the old standard tractors. Does yours have the EE (1941) or FF (1942) suffix's?

I’m new to the forum so I thought I would post some ads on this thread. I don’t have as many as some of you guys but I’ll add to this a little at least.

The two pictures are from a Successful Farming Magazine issue from August of 1980.

What is the make is the engine? A Wisconsin? The Australian built 55 Series (GL-55) used an air cooled V4 Wisconsin auxiliary motor.

Engine drive on balers was popular when tractors did not all have live pto as standard equipment. Looks like Case went with the V4 Wisconsin back in 1949.

Yes I do, still have a fond place in my heart for baling, I must be crazy, lol.  Still remember being at my grandfather's place, watching him set the hooks into, I think it was 4 bales at a time, to be pulled up to the peak of the barn, then slid into the loft on the rail.  Later in life, I was the one in the loft catching them, lol. What year is the brochure from? Appears to be a Continental engine pre 1950s when the IH engines were used
