What is this tool for?

A local dump truck operation is cleaning out the attic of their shop. Among the things found is this set of tools for who knows what purpose. The mechanic that's been there 30 years says they were there when he arrived. The previous owner has been there since the 1940s or 50s (he did run a lot of IH trucks.) They appear to be some sort of gauge or adjusting tool. They are threaded under the cardboard protective sleeves and don't look like they've ever been used. They are marked with SAE and PTT markings--SAE-10 and PTT-6 for example. Anyone know what they are for?

It is a Mandrel Tool Kit - for SAE 45° and PTT 30° flared fittings. The Mandrel Tool Kit is for assembling 23 Series hose fittings.

Exactly!

We used to use very similar mandrels making up aviation hoses. Anything bigger than a -8 was a bear!
