red_reaper
I am doing an article on registries, the information gained by them, how much of a useful tool it has become and the like. I'm tossing around the idea upon listing you guy's email with corresponding tractor for your registry, or I may just list instructions to this thread and let them get the info from here unless they have to register just to pm you because your email is not visible, which at that point most people will not bother with it and it will end there, and you've missed the numbers. If you will list your email address beside your respective tractor in the opening page of this thread,by contacting the author of this thread, everyone can view it and email you that is not a member here. Not sure how to send people to each of you in magazine form or if I should. You committed to this and apparently want people to contact you. Right??? Now, another question after I read through this, is some of you are not listing names or contact info with the serial numbers when it's available on your master list. Because of privacy or what ever. That info can be kept by you confidential until someone legitement is in need of such info and you can decide if giving them the info is justified, such as someone trying to find their original tractor, and you have that number listed. Not somthing rare like the first tractors built and being asked about by a collector or jockey. If you don't list the contacts of the tractors, what is the point of keeping a registry????? That's just like writing down every single serial number of every tractor down. after all it was out there sometime, but you now know nothing more than you did before you started the registry, and no one can benifit from it. Why ask someone to just give you a number?? what can you do with that?? Do you really want to tell someone who's asking about their long lost tractor, "sorry, I don't write that down". Then what's the point?????????? No one's asking you to give out information, just keep it for the whole reason these registries are started for. This 1206 registry would be pretty much worthless without contact info. What would you have told the guys we've re-united with their original tractors??? Sorry, can't help you. Do your own legwork? mmi
I have not officially offered as no one has presented a uniform and easy way to do such. I would most likely do it on paper ? not sure about just anyone having email whenever /whatever? may do 3xx 's possibly 4xx's 1xx's 2xx's are not that large in #'s cubs seem to sell alot so that will be some work yes I would request/keep all available info to be diseminated properly people are no usually free with the info however. I have been sending this note, Hi I belong to an association that is compiling serial #' s and locations/owners for these machines would you or the new owner please forward that info? Thanks mmi only had 1 good reply most non oem dealers will not give info, as many still turn up missing in the older units had an operation nearby that 30% of the stock was out of state I have had irate responses to info requests on items I purchased, maybe that is why was, in good condition but selling as parts only. has anyone a listing of #'s covered yet?? more suggestions requested
ihredo4
I am doing an article on registries, the information gained by them. If you don't list the contacts of the tractors, what is the point of keeping a registry????? I understand what you are saying red-reaper. What I was doing was keeping the owners name, address, contact information on file. If someone was asking about a specific tractor I could pass the information on to the owner and let them take it from there.
red_reaper
Yes, that's a correct way of doing it. Some sort of contact, a name or business at the minimum, phone numbers when I can get them, emails or whatever. Sometimes you just simply do not get that info on a drive by sighting, but I try to list who gave that info to me just to get some type of contact to get a spotter to the tractor. File it away so it's not public knowledge, but retrievable if and when the moment comes up to help out someone that's looking for that tractor. You'll know when a jockey or collector tries to get you to give them information on certain ones ,and can refuse that information at that point. I have decided to give directions to the opening page of this post for people to go to, instead of listing each persons email.
664 CDN
This is a list of the individuals on this board who are keeping track of serial numbers.First off, PLEASE don't list any serial numbers in this tread! If you have a Serial Number for someone, contact them using the information listed, so this one can stay organized. If you have a serial number for someone, have the following information; 1. Model number of tractor/crawler 2. Farmall or International (row crop or wheatland) 3. Serial Number 4. Basic info (ie, gas or diesel, gear or hydro drive ect) 5. Special or rare options (ie, factory front wheel assist, demonstrator, High-Crop ect) 6. Owners first and last name (or the name of the dealer or salvage yard who has it) 7. City and state where the tractor is located 8. A price (if for sale) To contact someone, simply click on the name by the model number. That will take you to that persons Member Profile Page, where you can send them a P.M. Or you can post new topic on one of the boards. Or you can send them an email, if they have one listed (You will have to change the "at" to @ to get it to go through, trying to keep the scammers and spamers at bay!) Without any further ado, here is the list! Michael Halsall
A liitle bit off the topic but how many #501 (first production unit) numbered tractors have we found? I know Farmall 806 #501 and T-5 crawler #501 have been found and restored by RedPower members. Any more already on any lists? Any prototypes or pre-production units on any lists? Great data collection project and thanks to all involved! Regards from M.H.
